The sad thing is it’s not bizarre, it’s actually very common and it’s only weird to the person on the other side of the screen. The whole point of parasocial relationships is that the “celebrity” or social media figure talks to the viewer and shares personal information, like a friend would. The viewer feels a connection and forms feelings about said social figure. Meanwhile the social figure has no idea the viewer exists. People live online and are socially inept, and unfortunately aren’t taught about boundaries.
