For a democracy to work and be strong, you need a strong public education. Without it you have a oligarchy or monarch. Where only the well off gets educated.

Rainbow you have my sympathy. I would hope it was one of those Christian schools that understood science is a tool for understanding existence. But by the sound of it, it's one of those schools whos rejects it. Why I don't know, be it fear, corruption, or something else. Though religion is slower than a snail on the uptake. It took them awhile to accept heliocentric.

Rainbow I get a lot of Christians believe that I really do. But they shouldn't take it to literal if they did the heliocentric would never be accepted. They would still think the earth is the center of the universe...(Some still do). Also a lot of Christians don't realize it. Haven't figured it out. But technically they aren't going against the bible. The OT is different from the NT which speaks about forgiveness and how the law of the land will not be the same as the bible. (Doesn't mean their free to do whatever. It just means if they follow the law of the land, it won't be used against them.) Also using science to understand things isn't going against the bible either. There is a lot they say goes against the bible, but doesn't. I always figure these were people who used the bible and religion to get what they want or to excuse their bad behavior.
