Louie Shelton was an absolute monster back in the day still is just sadly age gets us. The guitar parts on some of those old Jackson 5 songs are excessively intricate and groovy AF. Amazing session player

It's got 'noiseless' pickups written on the pickups so it's probably a relic'd custom shop. Those are modern pickups.

Bright but still warm and full, cuts but doesn't over power, tiniest about of saturation to where certain complicated intervals really pop. Yea it's nice. Those slides too.

Louie your playing gives me goosebumps. About 25 years ago I met Jerry Donahue when the Hellecasters were touring and he gave me a good hour lesson on how to play the last train to Clarksville properly at 72. I still haven’t mastered it.

I remember the first time I ever heard this song. I was 11 years old when it came out in October 1969. It was on an AM Radio. Literally, the first time I ever "felt" music. I still feel that feeling listening to this video. First time, I've ever seen it played. Incredible is the word.

My dear friend, Wilton Felder (RIP), laid down the bass on this song. He was most known as a saxophone player. But outside of the industry, few knew he was also a session bassist as well.
