His voice, expression, tuning, unbelievable tempo, simple plaintiff piano, heartbreaking lyrics, beautiful poetry, melody line whic is easy to follow, perfect song construction. This song has touched so many peoples hearts.. including mine. I've been a fan since I was a young girl. My sister had all of Jackson Browne's albums and played them over and over again. When I was 16 she took me to see him live in Santa Fe, NM at a NO Nks concert with Joe Walsh. My best friend had just been hit and killed by a drunk driver the year before and I was already suicidal, having suffered child abuse in all it's horrible forms by my parents and an older brother. I was suicidal from 10 and after my friend was killed, I couldn't find any reason to keep going. Jackson, your voice has helped so many of us... so many.. thank you for your beautiful words, melodies, song crafting genius and pure joy of music that matters. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤

48 yrs ago I sat on the balcony of my home in California and listened to some crazy kid playing piano just 3 doors(houses) from mine and he had been playing all morning not complete songs but enough to where I could tell whoever it was that he was a good musician. I was going to do that many times but didn't - then that day I got balls and I reached into the cooler sitting next to me, grabbed a beer and was going to walk down to that house and tell them how good their playing was . They were only 3 houses down and the music from that piano was crystal clear. Then I heard that song "Late For the Sky" for the very first time. I stood in the doorway listening to the entire song before walking down to meet whoever was playing that beautiful song. All the houses in my neighbor hood at the time had dog eared cedar wood fences around our back yards except for the house I was walking to . They had an iron type fence very easy to see through. and as I walked up to the gate this long haired guy who was playing the piano stopped and he saw me standing there at the gate and he just waved me in and went right back to playing his next song .. I walked up beside the piano and he stopped and I reached out my hand to introduce myself and the two of us shook hands and ai told him I had been listening to him play all morning, I asked him his name and he said Jackson. I said, "No what is your first name?" and he replied, "Jackson"

I was 17 (now 63). I was in high school and I was in full adolescence crisis. After dinner at 8 in the evening I went to my room, turned off the light, lit a cigarette and the radio and waited for 9: first there was SUPERSONIC that sent beautiful music but a little "commercial" if you can say so of pieces still incredible. Then Massarini arrived with POPOFF and the night began: with him I discovered Jackson Browne, DESPERADO's Eagles and countless others. It was a real journey into the night: I was out of my room traveling around the world. I still have the chills in the memory of those years. I try to relive them by learning to play and sing those pieces: it is a palliative but it is good for me even if I am late for the sky. Thanks Jackson!

This song has evolved for me over the last 40+ years I've been listening to it into not only my favorite Jackson Browne song, but my favorite song of all time. It speaks to me like poetry with sadness and reflection of a lost relationship... and saying goodbye. The Late for the Sky album and this song specifically is one of the treasures of my life. Thank you Jackson.

Goose pimples My younger years I lived in fear This album carried me Thank you Jackson Forgive me for adding to your busy day..normally I'd not make this request.. If you feel like it..would you please revisit For Every Man.. It's been on my heart that that song ..like so many of your songs..is even more relevant today IMHO I'd not ask but my twenty year old Kenwood died and I know so many folks would find that song as comforting as I do. Long .long ago. When I still sang..those first albums were my singing highs.. God bless you and yours sir Thank you for your generous spirit.

I feel so blessed to have been able to be on earth my whole life with Jackson. One of the most insightful song writers and prophet of our times. I was there in Washington D.C. when he was able to quiet down the endless sea of people to listen to Dick Gregory at the No Nukes Rally and I was there at his fund raiser near my home town for John Hall running for political office, another No Nukes rally singer. And he is a real truther! Thank you Jackson!🥰💕🙏😘.

When I was 15 years old (in 1976), I found a record album under my 17 year old brother's bed. I had plain blue album cover. It was a collection of "B Sides" that record companies sent off as promos to record stores. One of the songs had an odd title, "Fountain of Sorrow", by a musician I'd never heard of, Jackson Browne. I played that song about a million times, and my further investigation of Mr. Browne's music forever changed my life. His music inspired me to learn guitar and explore music, and his music got me through many, many sad times, with plenty of tears spent along the way. But the tears I shed, due to lost love, was always comforted by JB's lyrics and emotional music.

Back when I was 16 and madly in love with my husband, he worked graveyard shift. I'd stay up all night waiting for him to get home so we'd be on the same schedule and could sleep together. I'd draw and do artwork all night listening to Jackson Browne and James Taylor. For some reason, I always did my best art pieces when Jackson Brownes albums were playing in the background. My husband of 41 years died 5 years ago, but Jackson Brownes music will always be entwined with those very best days of my life. My husband also took me to my very first concert, Jackson Browne at UC Davis Freeborn Hall in 1975...

Late winter 1976, sitting in a movie theater watching Taxi Driver when a song began, and it dawned on me it was Jackson. The song was Late For The Sky, and he wasn't just ours any longer.
