This is exactly why I fell in love with JB in 1976 when I was 12 years old. No one quite understands what I mean when I say he's gotten me thru good times and bad. No one quite understands why, 22 years ago, I named my son Jackson. My husband doesn't know why we must continue to see him every chance we can when he tours. It's not something I can truly justify with words....I've just been touched in way I can't explain..and so gratefuly for the experience.

I am a musician, let me try and explain it to you.......it’s like a drug ,a sedative. Music does not just speak to the hears it plays on emotions, feelings and also lives in your heart. Everyone see’s/hears it differently. The best part it means something different to everyone........ahhh the magic of music, I can’t imagine a life without it.

I used to sing this song to my boy at night when he was going to sleep. He was only 4 or 5 but he got it . He’d say dad sing the “ fine “ song. It helped dispel the fear that tends to linger at night and sometimes keeps us from drifting off because it isn’t exactly happy or sad its just real and reminds us that our lives are filled with things that are fine
@michellekimble561512 жыл бұрын
And every time we're blessed by hearing him sing and play one of his beautiful songs, he gives us a taste of 'something fine.' He's one of a very few singers/songwriters whose voice gives me goose bumps and brings tears to my eyes. Also a fan for nearly 40 years, I never grow tired of listening to these 'old' songs. They almost get better over time - just as he does. Like I keep saying, I only hope and pray that he'll continue to make music for many more years to come!

Saw his show last night in Providence, RI. Three hours! Awestruck. He very plainly indicated that he had no set list and asked the audience to call out requests. We were fortunate to be in the third row and I asked for this song - my favorite. He smiled and pointed at my wife and me, retrieved this very guitar (from about two dozen on stage racks!) and he sang it beautifully, a highlight for me from one of my favorite performers. I play it myself and have always found comfort in it. Thanks Jackson. Thank you.

I love the fact that Jackson is at his desk and playing this as either to see if he wants to do it in the next show or just to do it and record himself doing it, but a master at his desk is always a brilliant take, like an artist who finds the right color of shadow to make what is otherwise there in existence, shine for that moment. The tears make a smile brighter. It inspires me.

It took me months to learn how to play this song. I learned to play it in 1978. The tuning is very unique...like nothing I've ever heard before. He sings about his internal thoughts and I think that is why not everyone can relate. He is a poet, and not everybody gets poetry. That's OK though. I think everyone dreams about Something Fine. It's different for everyone, but they know what something fine is in their own mind. That's why this song is universal.
