I own one, and in my opinion, this is a guitar that is at least worth $700. Having to work a bit on it to make it pretty much perfect is a pretty good deal. In this day and age, $200 is nothing for an amazing 7-string guitar. 20 years ago a $200 6-string guitar was total garbage. this guitar is made for professionals.

Agreed. I recently sold it to go back to 6 string. However I never had issues with it and it played amazing from the start to the end.

I just bought one, too. I will agree with everything said in the video. I had to adjust the trussrod, tighten tuners, intonate it, and did some fret work. That said, I have ordered new pickups and tuners. I may replace the bridge at some point. But I think the upgrades I'm doing so far will be fine.

It surprises me that the intonation on this guitar was off. I've bought 2 Jackson guitars recently. I ordered a Jackson JS Kelly without the trem and it was perfect out of the box. I've never purchased a guitar that had a perfect setup right out of the box before no matter how much i paid. I got a Fender Player series a few years ago that was horrible setup. The Jackson was so good I ordered an X Series Dinky that also came setup perfect. Right on the owners manual it had the string gauges and the action measurments that it was supposed to come with. I measured and it was spot on. The necks on these guitars are awesome. I'm getting the JS 7 string with the Maple fretboard probably. Hopefully it comes perfect as well. I can do my own setups anyways but its nice to get a guitar so close out of the box. IMO these Jacksons are the best quality for the money you can get these days. 20 years ago you couldn't touch a piece of garbage 7 string for under $400. I see one of these on sale for $158.00 brand new from Jackson Amazon store. It's ridiculous. I can't stop myself from getting it. The cons you mentioned at this price and quality are kinda mute points.

Cool! Cons aren't really that bad at all to me. I've had to do that basic set-up stuff to $800 guitars, so perhaps that's basic QC issues.

Based on what you said about the intonation that's a major let down. I bought a Glarry 97.50 total delivered to door and it took me 3 minutes to get intonation perfect. I'm not kidding myself I know in a few years I'll definitely wanna upgrade. However this guitar looks and sounds pretty darn good other than what you said about that 20 minute fiasco.

yeah, i have the same js22 and trying to get it intonated in A standard was a nightmare. i found i had to take the spring off the saddle for the low .65 to get it close. even now its not entirely perfect, but i plan to upgrade to a hipshot bridge or something anyway so maybe it will make a difference.

I got mine for $120 from a kid in Texas. I've had a few cheap 7s in the years of playing and this is the best budget one you can get. There are a few issues with the tuning pegs that's really it so far. I need to replace the saddles what would be the cheapest and best one I could get for it?

Go for it dude. I just bought one of these a few days ago to dip my toe and it's a lot of fun. It does need some setup and probably some better tuners but it's a hell of a guitar for $200.

Had the same issue with the stock bridge. I ended up upgrading to locking tuners and a hipshot but still can’t intonate that low 7th. Any luck??

@davidrapant63985 ай бұрын
@@aar0n357 These input jacks are always a problem on most guitars. Get one of those thin washers that have the edges on them and that will keep it together better. The problem probably isn't the jack part. It needs a washer.
