Great discussion, thanks for posting it. I've always liked "Havamal" because it's so approachable. It's bite sized, stand alone stanzas. Sure, those of us with limited knowledge of medieval Norse (Viking) culture will miss some insights because we lack the context, but the language is plain enough to grasp. And, since the subject matter is mostly human nature, it will always be relevant.

I like to read Hávamál more than holy books cause some of the advices feel real to me advices like which your grandfather would give you and you can apply them in your day to day life

43:00 Dr Crawford mentions the popular notion that Óðinn is hanging by his foot, but mentions bewilderment at where it came from as he imagines Óðinn hanging by his neck. 44:30 He mentions Óðinn looking down to see the runes beneath him, then reaching down while screaming. That can't be done if you are hanging by your neck. It can happen if hanging upside down though.
