Signs of Ragnarok II

Many modern sources claim that there is a very specific prophecy of Ragnarok, down to the date. What we have instead are a few sources that each give some conflicting pieces of a puzzle. This video examines the evidence from the text of the poem Vǫluspá (or Völuspá), as it is preserved in the Hauksbók manuscript and where that differs from the text in the Codex Regius, discussed in the previous installment in this series (see • Signs of Ragnarok I ).

Thank you for "Volvas spådom" 2012 translation! Definitely easier to read the kviþa for a reader/writer of bokmål at the first glance. And its comforting knowing your linguistic accuracy through YT-videos. I do like Ivar Mortensson-Egnund translations, its closer to ON, but then I have to use dictionary some. ON, then I have to use dicitonary a lot. Cheers

Which name for the book is the older? Is "Codex regius" a translation of "Kungsboken" or the other way around? 😊
