Great point: alcohol has no health benefits. It only has a negative effect on your body. That’s just the truth and thank you for being honest about it! Too often we try to excuse that fact away and ignore it.

I’ll be 300 days of no alcohol on December 9th!! I started watching Jaclyn’s journey over a year ago & crying bc I was a bartender & had to make money & I would hate having to go work bc I knew I’d drink. I was in a relationship with someone who was drinking 5 days a week so I was drinking 5 days a week. & once I got over not making fast bar money & left the relationship, it was so easy for me to quit alcohol. I love you forever Jaclynnnn you got this.

Thank you! I stopped drinking after your last video. Something I have been thinking about and wanting to do for YEARS. I’m 24 days in and starting to really feel better. I have tried to stop in the past and the biggest difference this time around is exactly what you said “make this your only priority”. I have been eating ice cream and sweets and sugary snacks and ordering whatever I want for dinner. Changing everything at once is way too hard. More than anything the difference this time is that I’m being KIND TO MYSELF. Before I would be so mean to myself “why is this so hard for you? You really have a problem if this is hard. Why can’t you just do this?” Now I’m like “Yes. This is hard. And I can do hard things. It’s ok” This narrative of kindness is game changing. Thank you for pushing me to make positive changes in my life. It means so much! ❤

I’m 29 now and I’ve watched you since your first few videos, since you were still at Mac. It’s crazy how you can feel a connection with someone you literally do not know, but it’s like I’ve grown up with you. Learning how to do my makeup through you as a teen, to now going through similar struggles as an adult honestly makes me not feel as alone. I was thinking about quitting drinking before you posted that video, and it was like God was saying it’s okay. So thank you, it means a lot more than you know. All of it

It doesn’t matter how much you drank, you had an issue and you have worked on it. Alcohol and drugs don’t fix any problems. Just glad you’re sober now that’s all that matters . Jaclyn, your videos were the first “no alcohol / sober curious” videos that I’ve found and truly related to 100%! I’m 29 and decided on 4/22/23 to stop drinking cold turkey and it’s been absolutely life changing. I think your point about not trying to do too many things at once is crucial! When I quit drinking, that was my only focus. Now I’m focusing on exercise and diet but that was only after my confidence was built up with not drinking. Also about your organization project/finding new things to do is spot on! I finally completed my office re-organization project and felt so accomplished during my first month no alcohol. Have a great week! ✨

You won't regret it. I can promise that. Its going to be super hard at first but live with the discomfort and everything will fall into place. I've drank constantly for the past 6 years due to depression and personal issues I attempted to quit twice and relapsed. I'm almost 1 month in again and for the first time I actually have the true motivation and mindset to never drink again. Thinking about tequila genuinely makes me sick and I'm so happy for that. I can finally be the mom my two kids deserve and the wife my husband deserves. I'm only 28 I don't want to waste the rest of my life not being present and harming myself. Keep up the great work you totally got this!

As someone who has struggled with sobriety and had some practice, I’d like to add a few tips.. 1. Community! Find yourself a sobriety group! Gone are the days of AA being the only choice around. Check out The Luckiest Club, Women for Sobriety, or Tempest. There’s many more to choose from. Meeting are virtual and they offer education. I find I get through those first few months and then I get comfortable…that’s when I slip. Having community can really help here. 2. For readers - Quit Lit! One of my favorites is ‘Quit Like a Woman.’ Laura McKowen has written two amazing books and is also the founder of The Luckiest Club. 3.If you’ve been drinking heavily for a long time - seek out your doctor. Thanks for sharing your story and for your courage. You are likely helping a lot of people. ❤

It’s such a blessing seeing all of these celebrities coming out about sobriety and how good they feel because of it. It just makes me love my religion even more. Islam is a way of life and anyone that follows it is so content because everything in Islam is for society’s benefit ❤ Thank you God.

I feel the same. When I was younger I used to feel sad that I couldn’t join in with the fun and drink with everyone. I thought I was missing out, but actually now I realise I only really missed out on hangovers, addiction and embarrassing myself.

I don’t often comment on KZbin videos, but felt urge to say a couple of things. One congratulations for this big mile stone it is great to see how you have persevered through tough times and are coming out the other side, stronger and even more beautiful. and two you inspired me to cut out alcohol. This might sound a little silly, but I’m doing one last night of bubbles and hallmark movies with a girlfriend tonight and then I am done. I already bought some nonalcoholic beer and sparkling sodas for Thanksgiving. Feeling excited and motivated to start this journey tomorrow!

If people in this comment section are drinking heavily (ie more time drunk than sober, needs alcohol morning/afternoon/night, etc.) PLEASE see a professional before quitting cold turkey. Someone in my life had a seizure after quitting drinking cold turkey. It’s scary shit. See a doctor before making drastic health changes!!

Your last video inspired me to quit cold turkey on Nov 1st. I didn’t stress myself out with a timeline, I just go day by day and I’m now at day 24 and it’s actually been a lot better than I thought. I drank 4-5 times a week the last decade. Thank you for being so open about this. I still go to the bar all the time but just get soda water, cranberry and lime. I’d love to see your mocktail recipes!!

Girl, you need to admit that you had an alcohol problem to start with because it’s seemingly all you talk about. Let me tell you from someone who’s been sober for a very long time if you have a drinking problem, which you did the only way to quit alcohol is just to quit and go to meetings.

I wish she would say she’s an alcoholic. She’s contributing to the stigma by sugar coating it.

Notice how she always mentions her lipsticks, but she doesn’t say anything about them at all in reality🤭

Your tips on only focusing on one thing at a time like released so much anxiety because I have been hounding myself to diet, cut out alcohol, sweets, pop AND working out 5 days a week and just hearing you say that you only focused on one thing at allowed yourself to treats or whatever it may be gave me a huge sigh of relief. Just hearing someone else saying that like "yes I still do this" but you made it gave me so much hope for myself.

I’ve followed you since the beginning, when we were both just young girls. I am SO PROUD OF YOU! I’ve recently stopped drinking too. It feels amazing waking up on Saturday & Sunday SOBER! 🤍

I've personally never had alcohol, but I still feel empowered by this😂❤

Jaclyn you could tear out the month of august from the calendar and frame it as a gift to yourself. I’d frame it and put it somewhere private where you do self care, like in a closet, bedroom, if you have a gym in the home. Just a reminder that you DID IT and can do anything you set your mind to.
