Jakob Böhme (April 1575 - 17 November 1624) was a German philosopher, Christian mystic, and Lutheran Protestant theologian. He was considered an original thinker by many of his contemporaries within the Lutheran tradition, and his first book, commonly known as Aurora, caused a great scandal. Böhme had a profound influence on later philosophical movements such as German idealism and German Romanticism. Hegel described Böhme as "the first German philosopher".

I'm fascinated by his biography, as well ~ his relatively late start, the sudden vision that led to his deepest thinking, etc. Those weren't easy days to think outside the box. (Maybe they never are.)

Namaste Samaneri Jayasara - There is a favorite piece of scripture of mine that I want to let you know about. It was written by one of the intimate devotees of Ramana Maharshi, Sadhu Om. The title of it is Sadhanai Saram, titled in English, A Light On The Teaching Of Bhagavan Sri Ramana Maharshi; I recall that The Happiness Of Being might be a closer translation. There's a free PDF online if you type in Sadhanai_Saram-4(1).pdf The document is not quite as long as it might seem to be when you open it because there are a few shorter compositions at the end, (which are also quite nice, however); Sadhanai Saram itself consists of 291 verses. If this is of any interest to you, there it is. Thank you.

Biographical insight into his life is scarce, but I did find a few bright examples on a Theosophy-Wiki website. Hoping the tidbits aren't apocryphal... Apparently, he even beheld images in astral light when he was very young: these visions would expand, supporting his belief in an inclusive God. Rest in paradise, JB.

i apologise if i am being lazy for not finding out myself, but have you done any sharings on shaivism? kashmir shaivism..i feel that is the spiritual tradition most apt for me as it emphasizes energy, shakti and embodiment. as someone who has suffered trauma, i feel it is necessary for me to fully become embodied before i can move on to more esoteric paths. thanks.
