I barely knew about Jacob when I first saw him at the Kennedy Center two nights after this concert. Then it was him, his band, the same NSO orchestra and the Aeolians choir behind them. I didn't know it then but Jacob does at least one audience choir at all of his concerts. I couldn't believe it. Later the Aoelians singing World O World which was also stunning. His Little Blue Mahogany sessions also has an informal audience choir of fans local to London. As for Laughey, it's funny to me that so many people haven't heard of her, either given that she is by far the biggest name in jazz in the world based on streaming views. She's the latest to be called the savior of jazz although what she does is largely 20th century pop a la Ella Fitzgerald and Chet Baker. She's a classically trained cellist among other things. Her fan base is heavily younger females. Like most English speakers, you mangled the pronunciation of her name which is a common one in Iceland. Anyway, you should react to her as well as World O World recording session with musical notation video. In fact, for lots of great artists you can react to all the people Jacob has collaborated with from Dirty Loops to Tori Kelly (Bridge Over Troubled Waters) to Lawrence the Band. For Jacob himself you'll want to check out All Night Long, Moon River, Hideaway, Makes Me Cry and All I Need with Mahalia. To start.

Simply stunning! Directing his audience as a choir is something that Jacob does at all of his concerts. Here is one example: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aXzWd2Zmbr2jgNEsi=tQHDzkHiPs34_6ew

Doesn’t have to be perfect because we essentially even each other out when you have a large group like that. Experiencing it in person though… surreal, legitimately. It is once-in-a-lifetime. Can’t believe he recreates it like every week… you’re absolutely not getting carried away, it’s emotionally moving. I was at a gig of his in Glasgow and was part of a crowd choir, it was an amazing experience. However, I would say that some audiences are probably more musician-heavy than others and this makes a bit of a difference. I think this was probably quite a music-savvy audience. Having said all that, Jacob can 'play' any audience to make a beautiful sound.
