I'm impressed that it's about accountability. God wrestles with us, in our lifetime, about who we are and what we've done. Not when we get to the day of accountability-that's when we get the consequences for the answers we've given over our lifetime.

I was always taught that the angel Jacob wrestles with is the angel tied to Esau, which is Samael. Esau was supposed to defeat Samael but abandoned his role to Jacob. So Jacob was forced to do Esau’s job until Messiah could bring redemption to Esau (Rome).

Correct me if wrong, but I like to think Jacob wrestled with Jesus. If Jesus is omnipresent than, Jesus is before during and after. Past present and future simultaneously.

You know, I found with all of my questions, I go to Roman Catholic answer site. Christians have been dealing with questions like this for 2000 years. The answers are already there. You don’t have to be a Catholic. Southern Baptist, and I didn’t find any of the answers to my questions wrong to my knowledge. I’ve never looked up Judaism as far as their teachings on the Old Testament but I bet they have some answers out there too.

We believe the angel Jacob wrestles is Samael.

The Bible says no man comes face to face with God and lives. Where does it say God came down in the flesh before the introduction Jesus? I saw text proving it was God and not an Angel. The Mystery person who wrestles with God mentions Michael always being supportive. Micheal wouldn't mention Michael.

This is the second Person of the Trinity. The Pre-Incarnate Christ. Whenever there is an appearance of G-d in human form, a face to face meeting is possible.

No one can see God. God reveals Himself through dreams and visions only. The Bible clearly says Moses is the only exception. Therefore, Jacob did not wrestle with God. Jacob wrestled with an angel. Angel represented God but not God Himself. Jacob thought he wrestled with God. That was just his unilateral proclamation not confirmed by any other Bible verses. In Hosea 12:4, Jacob's opponent is described as "malakh", which means angel.

False, that's what you believe in Islam. That is not even remotely close to what the scriptures reveal to us. God appeared to Moses, Jacob, Abraham, Samuel etc plus Jesus. (Jesus says in John 14:9) "He who has seen me has seen the Father" . If you deny that isnt a claim of being God, then answer this: Can you make that same statement? "He who has seen 《me》 has seen the Father"..? The answer is NO- none of us can make that statement. The question becomes "why can't we make that statement?" Or... ( John 8:56-58) -56 Your father Abraham rejoiced that he would see my day. He saw it and was glad.”57 So the Jews said to him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have you seen Abraham?”[a]58 Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I am.” The religious leaders then attempted to stone Him for blasphemy.

Angel only means messenger. An angel of the Lord vs The Angel of the Lord. There is a difference between the 2. "The Angel" of the Lord is capitalized and with good reason. Slow down when reading the text. Analyze, as Heiser said: If it's strange it's important
