She actually did more than that. She has been performing this song on her own tour for the last several months, and she has added to the runs and changed the phrasing to make it even more powerfully emotive, but she actually outdoes even her own enhanced version for this performance... I've seen several different versions from her own show, and none of them even come close to touching this one. This is quite possibly the ultimate version. I just can't imagine how she could outdo this one.

I just don't truly grasp his style then. I can't enjoy it the same way so I'm not sure what's missing. I related more to a chapel-like type of performance. I listen to Vivaldi, mozzart, and enjoy them the most. I love the Bohemian Rhapsody. But I'm not sure how to "enjoy" his style.
@cheetah_tai
@cheetah_tai 24 күн бұрын
@@tdf123emcee2 Honestly, I dont want to sound like I'm gate keeping you from the experience. Its just understanding how different chords evoke different emotions, and how everything as a whole combines to make something amazing. If I were to simplify it, I would relate it to that scene in Ratatouille, where Remi talks to his friend about trying ingredients together, and when you learn how to do it, it combines into something beautiful. I'm no means an EXPERT, but I have spent my life playing music, listening to music, singing, playing in bands and studying music. Just paying attention to how certain sounds make you feel when you immerse yourself in it, being really analytical about it, will put you in a whole new world.

@@qnicks23434 Not sure what you're implying by putting studio in quotes. Tori's lines were recorded in her home studio. It's a real studio room, with proper acoustic treatment, and fully professional equipment. Just because it's in her home doesn't mean it's not a real studio. The company that built the room out for her just put a tour out in the last couple of weeks, search for "inside tori kelly's home recording studio" if you care to watch.

I still get chills every second watching this. I was in the very very very back of the theatre cheering my very heart out looking like a crazy person but having the most fun ever. Some day, I hope to be able to speak to you and learn so much from you as a person and an artist. You radiate kindness and fun!! P.S. Not sure if u know this, but everyone was SO HAPPY after your concert that there was a dance circle that formed as we left starring an old man who was very young at heart. You managed to create music that united strangers on a groggy Monday night, inspiring them to sing and dance together even when there was no music to sing along with. As an artist, this is my dream and I never thought something like that was possible. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating music that makes me cry from joy and hope. If somehow the universe allowed me to learn from you in person someday, I will take it as my sign to face my fears and create. Hope anyone reading this has a blessed day!

It’s hard to describe the energy present during these 10 minutes. As soon as the tour was announced, I snatched up tickets with the sneaking suspicion that something special might happen at the LA show. I’ve been a longtime fan of Tori ever since the days she sang backup for Jeremy Passion, and suspected that if Jacob was playing a show close to her, she would love to be involved. That said, there were no guarantees. As Jacob started this song, the air began buzzing in anticipation. I felt my pulse quicken as the song progressed and toward the end of the first verse, a shadowy figure started walking to the stage. Soft murmurs throughout the crowd echoed back what everyone was thinking, “Is that John Legend?” John demolished his solo and the song continued toward the final verse. At that moment, the anticipation in the air was so thick, you could spread it over a slice of bread. Everyone was on the edge of their seat, knowing full well we were all witnessing a specific and singular moment in musical history. It was an amazing performance only heightened by witnessing it with fellow music nerds who could appreciate the moment in equal measure, which more than made up for the drunk ladies behind me who could not stop taking.

On March 29th, 2024 when the album dropped I enjoyed this song with a full heart and a spiritual experience watching the full moon over the English Channel while tearing up over this magical creation. It’s a short 2 months later, tour is in bloom and we are blessed with this permanent recording of three wonderful musicians coming together in this wondrous rendition. Grateful.

Thank you Jacob for sharing this gift. You said to us that night, “This is what the world needs right now.” Words cannot describe being there, such a beautiful oneness or friendship and joy. So when John Legend and Tori Kelly sang to us so indescribably, they were expressing the togetherness in that space and that we can have in the world. Thank you for being a bridge with your gifts and spirit. I will be forever changed by the privilege of being there and experiencing this moment.
