I'm rocking a Sonos Arc Ultra to gen 3 subs and two ERA 300s. There's some issues with the arc ultra and they need a firmware update to fix it and I'm really pissed off about it. I heard at CES they're going to announce a newer version of this. I think what this needs is if you're saying it's lacking some power in the subwoofer maybe they need to include two. I don't know if I could ever go back to a single sub. It's not about how much base you can get but just being engulfed by it and having one to the left of my 77-in G4 and one to the right of my couch on the opposite side of the room it just adds to the sound stage. I'm giving them till the end of the holiday exchange policy Best buy has which is January 20th I think. Before then, CES will have come and gone and we'll know what Samsung's new version of this will be. Should be quite interesting. Hope you get better and recover sooner than later

Same here, i didn't find bass lacking at all. Maybe if you have huge room, but in my living room this sub rumbles so loud, i have to turn it down a bit. Maybe i found just sweet spot by the wall where it works fine.

I bought the SAMSUNG Q990D recently and I think the Base is Good! The CREATIVE CARRIER also has loud Base and this was my comparison so the SAMSUNG Q990D is good enought! The old CREATIVE Katana has great Base. The SAMSUSNG Q990D overall Sounds much better than CREATIVE. I also bought an LG Soundbar - The LG S80QR and returned immediately. The SAMSUNG Q990D with an LG 55 Inch OLED55C44LA Sounds like the CINEMA! If you have enough space then buy the LG 65 Inch OLED65C44LA.

Sounds like you have a great system already, not sure if I'd swap unless you're just not happy. With dual subs you're most likely going to lose some bass so you'll have to decide what's more important; if you have to scratch that itch just make sure you buy from somewhere you can return it and not pay return shipping, it's a big box.

Great video! I had mySamsung HW-Q900D for a week and I love it. It's watching tv and it is decent amount of base for listening to music. You're not going to get the big booming heavy bass music that hear in a club but iSamsung HW Q990D will rock a house party.

comprei a HW-Q930D e funciona muito bem... é mto mais equilibrada que uma jbl por exemplo. mas precisa ser configurada quando compra. Pq ela padrão o som não é top, pra ficar top, configure e tenha bons ouvidos! ativei a opção de ficar mais alta a caixa traseira, mas no nível, deixei mais baixo, ficou perfeito! Tb ativei as duas opções de mais grave, pra quando tiver bem baixo o grave já entra. Enfim, valeu a compra.

Samsung is typically more of a balanced sound instead of bass heavy, such as the JBL 1300X. The Q990D is 656 watt with a 200 watt Sub as opposed to the 1300X that is 1170 watt with a 300 watt sub. I've been debating on these two myself and decided to snag the Q990D soon. Appreciate the review

Hi I am purchased recently this sound bar of q990d , I am facing one issue is that, while watching movies sound in Normal voice and surround sounds if we set then while music or song comes then sound automatically increasing and every time I am reducing sound manually ..... can u please help to give any best settings for this......means sound level not coming equal for normal movie and movie with music or song.... movies with song going high sound always and sound reducing for normal movies when music not there

I’m currently using the Theater Bar 9 (a9000) with the same sub and rears and am happy with it. If I had them side by side I might be able to pick which I prefer but I like them both and if you’re happy with that it I’d say stick with it

I’m deciding between the Q990D and the Klipsch Reference 5.1.2 Home Theater System. Will the Q990D provide enough output and Atmos experience compared to the Klipsch? I know these are completely different setups, but I’m a bit confused between the two.

I think the Q990D is a solid option when it comes to wanting a top tier soundbar but I'd never choose a soundbar over a full fledged home theater with independent speakers.

I recently bought Samsung Q990D and noticed that the bass is not punchier or boomy which I experienced from my previous Sony S40R soundbar. Bass is subtler and deep though. The volume is too loud, can't go above 20 during the day and 10-15 in the night times in an apartment. I don't find any ways to reduce the loudness. Btw, It has good immersive surround experience. Samsung should fix loudness and bass issues by software and firmware update. There is no option to manually calibrate the room.

Because of the black mold incident I talked about at the beginning of the video we lost everything down to the clothes on our back. It all had to go so I had to replace everything out of pocket including the monitor. Total loss which no insurance or lawyer will touch in Texas because we're considered a humid state.

I guess the subwoofer comes down to how big is your house/apartment and how loud you want it to be. I have a Q990C and the subwoofer in my case is more than enough I rarely get the system above 20 in volumen as the apartment a i live in is not that big

Same I have the Q990C Paired with QN95C 55 NEO-QLED TV and boy this thing is bonkers the much volume I've done is 25 which honestly you cannot listen long enough due to how loud it gets plus the bass literally shakes the doors(I've a glass door) I do not know what people mean by weak bass but I'll treat it as a matter of preference or I'm not an audiophile. I listen to a lot of music more so HIP HOP/RAP and man this thing is unreal. I watch lots of movies too and yes it excels even much more barely going past 10 watching a Dolby Atmos movie and still delivering unmatched sound quality and clarity.

That's terrible to hear about the mold. Hopefully your health improves. That's the most important thing. Curious what you think about how this model compares with the previous model (HW-Q990C). Unless you need the HDMI 2.1, the previous model might be available for 1/2 the price. From what I can tell, the sound should be pretty much the same.

I have no experience with the C version. If HDMI 2.1 is the only difference you can always connect your consoles to your TV and eARC the sound.

For such a big soundbar the sound from the center part is kinda weak. Compared it to Bose soundbar Ultra and the difference is huge, Bose sounds much better. But when it comes to Atmos effects Samsung is king and Bose really sucks. 🤷‍♂️

Great review. Question is, which they always leave out from illustrations, where are the wires for the surrounds. I get they are wireless, but power has to come from somewhere. And they always show the setups with the couch mid room. Looks great, where do they plug in without having a power cable laid across the floor

Plugs are in the back of the unit and a bit short at 6 ft each so you'll need to run an extension cable from the wall to about the mid point behind your seated position. Consider using my link should you decide to buy!
