2 stroke all day don't hate. don't forget that's 600 collateral cc's it took to beat that tiny 250cc smoker. it would take just another 50cc to beat that lame ass 4 stroker. try it with a KTM 380 for instance and we not even talking 500cc big bore monsters.

hdidane00 bahahah man... I’m a 2 stroke guy at heart but 2 strokes aren’t where it’s at with motocross anymore. A modern day fuel injected 450 would smoke any 500cc 2stroke. They are easy to ride and handle wayyyy better. 500 2 bangers are honestly pieces of shit that rattle like crazy and have outdated suspension.

Wrong size rimlocks, or maybe a spoke head is sticking through the rim strap. That will cut a tube in no time. Awesome ride though 👌

I cried a little, im now 62 and my first bike was a Honda XR 200 in 1984 ,and i eventually worked my way up to the xr 600. Thanks for the memories.

Great, it is a hard work to.do cross with a XR 600 cc , this guy is an expert driver!! I used mine to climb hills , travel throught the jungle and highlands of Peru , the perfect bike for this trips!!!

That’s awesome! That’s pretty funny because I was racing my 05 Cr125 everything stock accept the Jetting(I had a jd jetting kit), so I also raced a my 06 Cr250 and both of those bikes stomped the KTMs and the Yamahas. The 250 is a hole shot machine. Love how you ride an XR against other bikes.

To bad about the flat, i have a very fast friend who has a garage full of trophies, he always said about it depends on the rider, some guys out there can outrun people on a honda 90. Thats what he said, it sounds like an exaggeration but the point is you rode the honda like that. Way to go. I was leading a mx race years ago, although i mostly race desert, on a 400 yamaha it. It flooded out on the whoops with the finish line in view. I started pushing it and everyone passed me. I finished last. But i know how it is.

I pushed my xr 600 so hard around a motocross track back around the year 2000. I started to tear the headset of the frame. it cracked under the headset and that crack went up the bottom of the headset and 5mm up the wall. both sides .. i angle grinded a groove and welded it back up but was too scared to take it back out . brought a crf 450 the xr was a new 98 model low hrs. I had people shocked how fast I was on it. on the motocross track. was fun beating other guys on motocross bikes.

I had a flat on the front of the XR650 I had at only around 40 mph, but the roads were snowy. Thought I hit black ice again at first. Fixed it, made it home safe. Then a week later blew the rear at 65. Now THAT was an experience...

Have not used rim locks on any of my bikes over the last 20 years. On my XR650L which does road, gravel and single track hasn't been a problem running between 15 - 20 PSI. If max torque does not slip the tyre on a grippy surface like tar then it's good for me.

Try racing in the vintage 500 class. Even the most modern 500 will qualify to race but you'll get your ass kicked by old guys with 6" of suspension and dual rear coil shock.

I got an xr200 and i rode around on a flat tire for like 6 months before i checked it with a gauge. Guess being a novice and exclusively riding in sand affected that

Tubliss would fail too if the rim locks aren't working.

@@fastguysslowbikes With tubliss you greatly reduce pinch flats and you no longer have the variant of rim lock size. Your problem, assuming you are correct, is that the tube tears at the valve stem or other weakpoint.. You dont have the same mechanisms at play. Then there are the moose options too. Either way good luck in whatever you decide.

We found out it was some of the belting in the tire showing. Whoever installed it was a little rough.

i sure recognize the sound of this bike I had a xr600 man that this was heavy and there was a certain way to start it or it would flood out and get you mad as heck , it was a good bike over all , getting ready to buy another dual sport , its either the KTM 500 or the DR650 not a expert rider so i am stuck which one to get and yes I know the KTM is a much better bike but i really don't know if it would make that much a difference to me sense i am not a expert rider just a good rider.

If you haven’t already made your purchase, might I suggest you go with the xr650l. Take my word for it, (and I’m sure many others) you won’t be disappointed. You can grab a 2021, or 1993 and anything in between, and you won’t regret it.

In the early. 2000s XR600 . Guy's at work. In construction. Would be walking about riding. They all knew I was a rider. They talk crap. all day long. So I got them to go out . ,. I said. After watching your previous videos you've made it clear how you feel about the importance or lack of importance of choosing the perfect tire for the conditions of the track. I was just trying to poke fun. Really though, do you think there was debris on the track causing punctures or does it look like it was something else like a pinched tube?

@@bigsmallblock9480 oh I get it! That's a good joke then! My hypothesis is that the tech who installed the tires ordered OEM rim locks. The new rims are narrower than OEM. The rim locks weren't working at all.
