For the tape, use a hair dryer on low heat and wave it over the tape, ensuring not to keep too much heat over one area for too long. This should soften the adhesive enough to make the tape easier to peel off. I also think someone suggested using he tape itself to remove the leftover adhesive. That can work too depending on the type of tape.

Also, the FF XIII trilogy plays like 💩 on Xbox 360. Lightning Returns is the worst, it stutters so much, it's borderline unplayable (it's a stutter fest on PS3, too, but slightly better). if you have one, you should test the pokemon heartgold cart with a Pokewalker to see if its legit. games that uses IR usuallly has a slightly darker plastic compared to other carts. you can also shine a light, should look kind of like a really deep red. also, maybe do the Pictochat version check on the DS to check its version; if you have a flash cart+FlashMe, and a toothpick wrapped in tinfoil, you could short the points and modify the base firmware on it. There was supposedly a short period around the DS Lite's release where the hardware on the DS itself could support multiple brightness levels. though the only benefit is probably only being able to change the brightness without using a flash cart menu.
