Best track on the album and it’s hard to say cos this album is by far her best one yet, so proud of her artistry.

I know right? She can be annoying to me lol but this track is honestly incredible. The lyrics, the music and sounds... I'm actually loving this album. Texted my swiftie niece yesterday saying ok I get it now lol. I mean of course I grew up with the first Taylor swift albums and loved them. I think she has talent and have to give her credit for her huge tour. The lyrics in this are amazing. She can be nnoying lol the whole Swiftie thing is a bit much but this... wow. Amazing.

This song is so good. There’s something haunting about it

My favorite part is when she sings “I’m just mad as hell cause I loved this place” because the harmony has so much emotion and pain into it, you can really tell she put her heart into this one.
@marjant40897 ай бұрын
the crazy amazing part for me is the sound of "someone breathing fast like she is going out of breath" under the music. very subtle, but It becomes more clear at about the time she sings "... when your'e not sure if he wants to be there...". It really creates the picture that she was really running out of air

It's also a reference to other song "London Boy". So both songs are about her longest relationship with Joe Alwyn.

Uh the production is unreal. The quiet synth in the beginning is one of my favorite sounds on the album. The layered choral beginning with entry of the synth. Perfection. So unique.

The beginning sounds like church bells- aka the wedding bells she never got to hear with him because he never proposed. It’s gut wrenching that she made “so long London” sound like wedding bells 😭

It also makes me think of London bells… either the nursery rhyme or the actual Westminster bells.

@@musicfangirl7403 I'm not crazy to think those are indeed church bells right? London bells and wedding or funeral bells are all church bells?

The drum beat represented her heartbeat, which stops at the end of the song. Her farewell song to Joe Alwyn, who lived in London. They dated for over 6 years.
@pookspeak95296 ай бұрын
The song starts out with something similar to church bells in London then shifts into a heartbeat rhythm.

You should listen to Death by a Thousand Cuts and how it starts, i think the parallels to the start of this song are intentional.

This song is about her ex, Joe Alwyn. He’s from London. So she might as well be saying “so long, Joe,” but that’s not very poetic, is it?

Simply for me, QUALITY wins more than the quantity of sales. Success does not benefit me at all as a music consumer because I did not earn a penny from it xDD Quality is what I really appreciate. The Tortured Poets Department and Midnights are the worst albums of Taylor Swift's career and one of the most successful as well... what does this mean? Well, Taylor Swift is indeed an artist who sells millions but is only interested in money and squeezing as much as possible from her fans. She is no longer interested in bringing quality. I feel like she released this album just to try to outshine Eternal Sunshine and Cowboy Carter... which are without a doubt the best albums of the year and they shit all over this one. In short, the worst album of Taylor Swift's career in my opinion. Compared to Beyoncé or Ariana, Taylor's talent is minuscule!! She doesn't have a great voice or a special or different tone. He is not the only artist in the world who composes his own songs. The rest does not stand out. Sales doesn't make you talented but like I said, it's just my opinion. Thanks for reading me! 🤣❤️

Just a lot of nothing you said. Quality wins over quantity so it’s wrong that she’s this prolific to come up with all these songs? She had chosen not to do that she have done it in the past and what happened? Album of the year. She have a lot to unpacked and just put in all in one. It’s her artistic choice and couldn’t be better because we have so many songs that are great storytelling and different types of production and very experimental.
@agelnocortes91588 ай бұрын
@@FC-qb9wp Keep spending money on garbage. Metacritic has spoken and they have said that the album is the worst of their career, music critics agree with me. People who really know about quality, not fanaticism.
@agelnocortes91588 ай бұрын
@@FC-qb9wp The same lyrics in 31 songs? No, thanks. She has been in the same romantic loop since 2020 and she can't get over it lol As I say, the most boring album of the year, sorry. Lana Del Rey does her thing and does it masterfully. Taylor just doesn't.

Her track 5’s NEVER disappoint. The beginning is sung to the sound of the Big Ben chimes. She’s brilliant. Although her #5’s always crush me. 🙈💔🫶🏼 Unfortunately he’s not quite able to listen to the lyrics and the music at once. I wish he’d listen to the music first and then listen to the lyrics. She is pouring out her heart, as she does, only to be overlooked. 🙈🙈🙈🙈
