@@JacobSchofield yeah. If you have the money, a "PAPR" is the way to go. It blows the air so you don't have to "SUCK through the filter." They use the exact same filters. Sounds like he has a good head on his shoulders and a great father to guide him!! Man do I wish I had been exposed to welding and fabrication at his age!! Who knows what or where I'd be right now. I ended up with the wrong crowd and made some horrible choices starting at 13 years old and they still affect my life in some ways. I'll be 33 years old as of (6/14/20), but I've come a long way. Married since 2009 to my angel. Just bought our first house last Feburary and I have a great job at Smithfield foods in Monmouth, IL.... 3rd shift maintenance position. I love welding and fabrication! I've only just learned a couple years ago but I've become a great welder and I've been wrenching since I was 15. Part of why I got into a lot of trouble. My father was the kind of dad who said work or school...choose....! I chose work, full time work, and quit school. It was definitely the wrong choice lol! I was making great money for that age and it just fueled my reckless behavior even more. I had a cash full of money and no sense of direction and definitely not a single real responsibility. I got into drinking and drugging pretty quick and shit just went downhill from there extremely fast. Sorry to share my life story, lol, but just thought I could give a little insight and prove that what you have done and are doing as a parent is bad ass, in my opinion, and sounds like your gonna have a great young man on your hands with a hell of future. So congratulations on that and give yourself a pat on the back fella!

Justin Kurdi Never settle and keep progressing. If your ok welder go to night classes or buy a machine start small part time business pickup tax breaks alone will pay for it. I live in Utah. Friend just told me kennicott copper here is shutting down for repairs there looking for welders paying 36 an hour about 3 month job. I've told my son I would pay for him to go to Lincoln electric weld school. They have 100 percent job placement and can get whatever certification you need. I have a friend he welds on heavy equipment in Vegas with his own rig he gets 105 an hour.

It had 220 plug in already wired in on a, ? 480 amp system? ( not 100% sure on the amperage of the square D box) so I'm good to go there. And I have considered getting into some classes at the local community college. They have an excellent welding program. Yea that's definitely my dream, just to do my own welding and fabrication out of my shop and in time I will have that!
