Jade chose the long difficult road to get to the Olympics given how tough it is to make the US team. It was so tiring but she just kept pushing on. Things turned out in the most unexpected ways... she was the highest qualifier for vault after Simon but the expected gold just didn't happen. But her beautiful floor routine (the best I've ever seen her do it) really had me cheering the whole way for her. What a brilliant way to win gold. For Team USA, the Olympics journey started as a nightmare but things somehow just fell into the right place over the days and every member goes home with a medal. You can say the best possible outcome happened.

I remember being really disappointed to hear she stumbled in the vault because everyone saw that as her best opportunity for a medal with a real shot at gold. So, when the news came up later that she won GOLD on floor it was one of the happiest sports surprises in memory.
