Love your vibe! Thanks for the review. Yoga mats are so pricey. I appreciate your perspective on the eco-friendly perks of this particular brand.

Thank you so much! Yoga mats really can be extremely pricey and so this is a great affordable and eco-friendly option, win-win!

I've had a Jade Yoga mat for about 4 years now and the rubber has peeled off even more than yours so you're not alone! I think it might be the rolling of the toes when you transition from chaturanga to urdhva mukha especially for Ashtanga practioners.

Happy you enjoyed it! I am so used to explaining the pros and cons of mats so it makes sense to finally be filming them! Looking forward to seeing more review videos from you too :-)

Thank you very much for your reviews, tey're very helpful! Please can you review the Jade Level One yoga mat? Can you do a water absorbing test in comparison with the Jade Harmony mat? Thank you so much 🙏💚

Excellent suggestion! I did a water absorbing test in my latest video, but I didn't have the Jade Level One mat. I'll add that one to my list :-)

Hi Alexia, I’ve been searching for video about layering travel mat but I can’t find it. I tend to buy travel mat (1.5mm) to layer on top on the mat in my yoga studio but I’m afraid it’s a bad choice 😅
@AlexiaKYoga Жыл бұрын
(sorry for late reply) I have heard of people doing just that! Taking a thin travel mat to studios and placing it on the communal mats they provide. It's a good alternative if you don't want to take a regular mat with you to a studio. However if you get a 4 or 5mm yoga mat that isn't too heavy, then that could also be a good option and then you won't have to use the studio mats at all!

Please, please, please do side-by-side review of rubber mats: Jade Harmony, B Mat and Manduka eKO 5mm (my Jade is wearing down too near feet and hands but I have found nothing as grippy. I feel super safe. For cleaning Jade recommends three parts water to one part white vinegar. Works like charm). I would love to try a smooth surface mat as long as it doesn’t make me slip and slide. Have zero patience for break in period. Jade works right out of the box.
@AlexiaKYoga3 жыл бұрын
That is an excellent idea! I'm adding it to my to-do list :-) I just filmed a 'How to clean your yoga mat' and yes I agree that water and vinegar work like a charm! If you want a smooth surface with great grip that works right out the box then I would recommend Liforme.

I couldn’t agree more about the Liforme mat. The summer time is pretty hot where I live, which makes me sweat a lot during my yoga practice, and I feel totally safe on the Liforme mat. The downside is definitely the price...
@seechangenyc2803 жыл бұрын
@@AlexiaKYoga Can't wait to hear your verdict of mats above. You'll be the first to compare the three! Liforme is on my list!...I can't use essential oils (my face hates them and my feet and hands do too as they leave a slick), hence the water and vinegar solution. I would loooove to try the Manduka you like but I have heard so many people give up before getting it to break-in. I wish they would just sell it broken in. In NYC I have no idea wear I would do a salt scrub. Not knowing if it would do the trick (for many I know it hasn't), I'm hesitant to purchase. But I would love to try the texture (much different than Jade which is slightly spongy). Grip/safety is my top concern and so far Jade delivers.

@@hprisleg thank you for sharing your experience with the Liforme! I've heard a lot of people say it only lasts a couple of years. Have you had a similar experience?
@hprisleg3 жыл бұрын
@@AlexiaKYoga Hello Alexia. I actually share your concern about how durable the Liforme mat is. Mine has 1 year of usage of Vinyasa and is still pretty good. However, I do not use it every day as I have other mats and I alternate them. I did see a review on youtube of a Liforme heavy user and her mat has been lasting for over 5 years. I hope I will have the same positive experience as she did, but I still cannot say.

Sure, it is natural rubber, but I have traveled through rubber plantations in indonesia, and it is pretty bad. They clearcut megadiverse jungle and plant monoculture rubber trees from horizon to horizon. It is ecocide. I wonder if the bit of petroleum in a manuka is better, as it lasts a lifetime, unlike any rubber mat.
@AlexiaKYoga9 ай бұрын
I share your concerns. Yes rubber is considered environmentally friendly, however do we know if it was harvested sustainably? Plus given that you’ll need a new rubber mat every few years.. my Manduka pro is made of PVC but really is a mat for life.
