It was almost written in the stars, wasn’t it? Another opportunity for the English press to tear into Manchester United, as one of our loan players went out, proved their doubter wrong and won the biggest trophy on the continent. We all breathed a sigh of relief when it didn’t work out that way, right? In January this year, Jadon Sancho left Manchester United. He once again set off for Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund, the club he played for prior to joining us in July 2021, before Ole was sacked from United the very season he joined. Things have changed with Sancho, it feels sour. It doesn’t feel like we’ve got a young prospect hot off a season statistically beating Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi both in goals and assists. This is now a different situation entirely, a different player entirely. Is there a way back for him?

The whole Sancho affair was massively blown out of proportion by the player, and coulda/shoulda been smoothed over immediately. He’s allowed this to determine the rest of his career, where he’s unquestionably damaged his reputation and will almost certainly lead to him joining another club at a much lower salary. He has long road ahead to rebuild his future. That said, hes an example of our poor recruitment; the lad has talent, obviously, but the shirt was too heavy for him. He doesnt have the right stuff unfortunately, and this should have been identified before he was purchased. We move on…

The ex-Liverpool pundit in for TNT Sport during the UCL final was full of ABU bias. When he was going on about this Dortmund side being the team of rejects, and how much he went on about Sabizer being not good enough according to United and left United for Dortmund and went on to play Brilliant for them. As well as all the obvious things like performance levels, public responses (to one thing the manager said about training performance levels), and the leeway he's been given with the months away from the job he's paid to do, I still can't forget how may times we saw jump him out of challenges, duck out of headers or jog about with the opposition on the counter. His attitude is not that of an elite athlete. That's not up for debate, we've all witnessed it with our own eyes. The sooner he's gone the better, and United can continue to rid themselves of this player power culture from spoiled individuals who try and create friction every time they encounter opposition to their behaviour.

I wonder if he just doesn’t want to be in Manchester or the Premier League. He’s technical enough he could do wonders in Italy and probably Spain, and maybe his attitude would work better there? Alcohol has been an issue with players for years and having a real problem drinking large volumes, every night, sleeping in late the next morning, and not being able to get up and put in the maximum effort in training? No athlete can do that, and hope to sustain it, so something has to give, and it did! if he makes a contrite apology, and words it however he wants too, as long as the apology, goes to the right person for the right thing, then so be it. otherwise, he doesn't come near the club again, and is sold asap

Did you just make that up ? I would go with the reported narrative that he was up late playing games - Fifa etc and was so tired when it came to training he was unable to get his heart rate trace to anywhere near acceptable, Hence ETH claiming he was not training hard enough, Training when tired effects HRT - Heart Rate Threshold so Sancho would of been trying his very hardest and he obviously believes that but his performances and recorded telemetry would tell a different story and this is what I believe could of been the case, It will all come out in the end eventually.

Fully agree, if Sancho is allowed to return and rejoin the squad, even if ETH is no longer here, then it's just a sign that the players still have the power and not the management and you'll get more players starting to act up and messing up their careers due to it cos "well, he does it and nothing happens to him". ETH handled Sancho correctly imho, and i fully believe the club "tried everything" to help him. There's a reason Pep didn't want to keep Sancho, and we know there's been issues with Sancho at every club he's played for and the England camp - and it's not like he's the 2nd coming of prime CR7/R9, he's barely lit up a game that i've seen apart from 1 goal against Liverpool imho. And his apology needs to be as public as his shit-talking, time to man up and be a big boy Jadon, this is the really real world. I keep saying, just imagine how SAF would've handled Sancho doing this...his feet wouldn't have touched the ground between the changing room and his car with a "GTFO, ta ra, Fergie" written on the windshield and he'd be sold to the 1st team to offer more than a 10p mix-up and a bottle of Vimto ;)

He's earning around 300k at United... I get that was for his previous Dortmund form and it's the hill he dies on too in his United career. When you get those top wages at the biggest clubs you either are a great player or you are thrown out. Easy decision for the club.

Sancho turned his back on United, whatever about falling out with ETH. He could have made himself undroppable by performing, instead he took the easy way out and downed tools. I think the fact he is still nowhere near the England squad speaks volumes too

If Sancho does come back for next season no matter who the Manager is Sancho will have double the pressure on him to perform, So if he cracked the first time round I honestly cannot see Sancho being a success and turning his career around. If INEOS have any sense they will sell him and cut our losses.

I think Ten Hag can take about 10-15% of the blame. Only because he kept playing Antony instead of Sancho and that is ridiculous, even if Sancho wasn’t doing the work in training. However Sancho takes the rest of the blame for being a diva and not coping unless he is the main man

If Sancho genuinely wants to get back and fight for a spot at United I think that's doable. He hasn't done anything that is unforgivable. But there is only one way it could happen. And that is if Sancho apologizes to the manager and the rest of the team, and probably also some sort of public apology to the fans, and says something along the lines of "I was being foolish and my head wan't in the right place...". If he doesn't do that, and the club bring him back (no matter who the manager is) it will be seen as a massive sign of weakness and giving the players license to say and do whatever they like. But if he apologises there should be no drama. But for that to happen Jadon would obviously have to grow up from being an entitled little brat and becoming a grown up. I doubt that has happened in the last 6 months. But I hope I'm wrong.

I seen a stat that he’s scored 2 goals in 7 months at Dortmund. If he does that in a United shirt, the English media would still be wanking themselves off. A fistful of good games in Germany and everyone is picturing him as Messi 😂😂

I did not watch that semi-final that everyone raved about, but truthfully, I didn't have to. i watched his highlights for the when he was a player for dortmond, and England. I saw what he brought to the table - he was nearing on world class. the problem is, world class ability does not make one world class. it is the ability, consistently proven, alongside a mental strength that allows the player to truly be world class. I believe that is a fundamental attribute that some overlook when defining world class players. The example apology that @stephenHowson gives during this video is a perfectly acceptable apology for ETH and the coaching camp, as well as his teamates. Of course on top of that is that next part of what Ste mentions - that he will work with the manager behind the scenes to rectify the situation. It's not enough to just say words on twitter to rebuild the bridge he broke - though thats an important first step - it requires him to have the mental strength to realize he, like all humans, are ignorant of various things, and in this case, he clearly doesn't see or is ignoring or whatever, the things that EtH has issue with. I don't see it happening, but what do I know, I don't know him personally, and I believe people have an enormous ability to overcome adversity, so I hold out hope. But he needs to make that first step. short of that, I do not want him back, for any manager - especially not if EtH gets sacked (as has been said, it just sets a very bad precedent for the players and the culture that needs to change). Player power has got to change in our club. yes times have change and the current crop of players from his generation seem to need some extra coddling, but look at Real Madrid - do you see that happening there? or do you see them expecting what they have always expected from their players?

@@surpriserakins9067 Like I said, I don't know, but I hold out hope that he will, but yeah, its slim. Childish to wish for maturity in a player? No one said "expect". I don't expect him to do it, but I would expect it IF he were to be allowed back into the team.

I think its childish to expect an apology from an adult that would clearly not be sincere. Sancho, whether misguided or not, clear does not believe that the nature of the apology that was demanded - which by all accounts was to be public and publicised - was appropriate.

Disagree about a public apology... ETH said he didn't meet the standards then repeatedly played Anthony over him, when the manager comes out and says you didn't meet the standards whilst picking bayblade boy every week the player does have the right to stand up for himself... What exactly is he apologising for? if the manager is allowed to publicly call someone out a player is allowed to defend themselves.. having said that I do think selling him is the best option regardless, as he's got value and we've not got anything out of him

We need a decision on EtH very soon. Then we will have a clearer picture. If EtH stays then Sancho has no way back, if EtH goes then there may be, but I don't want him. There is no doubt he is a disruptive influence in the OT dressing room, Lets wait and see which way the chips fall, but they must fall very soon.

I think Sancho will leave on a free transfer in two years. Clubs will look to get him on loan, but signing him for a fee and a 3/4 year deal on good money is a big risk given his history.
