Come and see how I discipline toddlers with boundaries and consequences. I do not use violence, hitting, yelling or gentle parenting. It is effective yet respectful.

This was lovely Jayda. I really enjoyed it. Single mom here from Jamaica with 7 and 3 year old boys. God bless. I really like how you end with encouraging us to show them grace because when we look at how we hurt God, we must also show them grace as He has shown us. Thanks for.helping me in my parenting experience. It's inspiring and motivating.

I do not spank my 10 year old son hardly EVER, but when I do it’s usually for disrespect and constant backtalk, refusal to make a change. This is last resort but I love all of these suggestions they’re so good and no youtube, chat room, social media stuff for pre-teens is sooo game changing. Thank you Jady for expressing your opinions in an honest respectful way, I love your channel!

I love this video so helpful. I am a mom of 4 ages 5,6,11 and 17. I'm trying to learn how to get us away from screens so much and more time doing activities together and having more things available for them to go around the house for independent play and ideas on how you do those things will be great. I also wouldn't mind help with how to help with sibling rivalry. My 5 and 6 yo debate and argue so much but are the best friends and i just can't seem to help them to play together without what's fighting we always have to separate them

Try cooking together: making pasta from scratch, ice cream making, grating cheese, pizza dough from flour, etc. Each child has a their own task in making food and they learn to work together instead of fighting.

This is a great resource thank you! Sometimes, I cook a meal and my little one will say that she wants something that is entirely different when dinner time comes. She doesn't always argue about meals but when she does, it feels like a real power struggle between the two of us. I am not being violent or spealkng to harshly. She just doesnt love it when she doesnt get her way.What boundary would you create? How can I change? How do you feel if you create a boundary or logical consequence for your kids and has anything boundary you've put up caused your kiddos to be upset or cry? I think tears can come whenever No is involved. I want to strengthen our bond, but am feeling its a little strained since I am often the disciplinarian. As a Christian mother sometimes I wonder if my daughter will come to know Jesus through my No's but I do know that No is important. I know that boundaries are important. I hope I don't push my daughter away from wanting to have a relationship with Christ by creating clear boundaries.I've been talking to the Lord about this and I really feel that the posture of the heart is critically important. Thanks as always!

When our kids don't want what we've made, I calmly say that this is what is on the menu tonight, we can have xyz tomorrow. I let them know that if they choose not to eat, I'm not making something else. Most times they end up eating what has been made, even if it's just a few bites. Some other options: - Have a PBJ or something you know they like already made and prepped. If they don't want the food you made, have them try two bites and if they tried it and just genuinely didn't like it, give them the backup food you gave prepped. - Meal prep for the week and let your child choose which item they want from what's been prepped already. Also, please keep in mind that you're the parent - not their friend. You're not going to ruin your bond or their relationship with Jesus by saying no. You are actually honoring God by saying no as needed and guiding and teaching your child. The Bible says that a parent that doesn't discipline (to teach) their child hates them. I hope all of this helps!! I know it can be hard and we can feel so much guilt no matter what we do, but you're a great mom. Just keep seeking God and ask the Holy Spirit to guide you in every parenting decision you need to make specifically for your child. ❤️

We’re currently on vacation and he’s been on his worse behavior ever since we got here. He was great before we got here and no nobody has been hitting anybody. I feel so bad just gave him a baby slap in his hand and he said mommy you hurt me, no hitting mommy

@JadyA

Remove snacking and stick to 3 core meals a day. They should not be drinking milk or juice as toddlers through out the day. When they are hungry they will eat. You can't not force a child who is not hungry to eat. It is a pointless battle. My kids sometimes skip meals and eat a super big meal later. I do not battle kids with food but there is also no snacking, drinking juice or milk through out the day. So when I serve a meal- there is hunger!

@@JadyAthe problem is that my 3 year old simply won’t eat at all and can go days without eating if I don’t “force” encourage him to. Even the things he likes he won’t eat. He’s been like this since birth was a micro preemie. Also he never wanting to drink milk he’s pediatrician even use to give us syringe to feed him the milk and it would only be 2oz until almost 2 now that he’s 3 he’s asking for milk at night and we give it to him by bottle. We should stop right?

Hi Jady! So I have a one year and half who get extremely angry, and will throw anything in her sight when she gets upset, it’s honestly exhausting and idk what else to do to help her through this ill behavior. She didn’t want to take a nap and so from her crib she throws the toys on the floor. I never have any toys or anything for that matter in the crib she just happens to have them in her hand when I put her there and I was going to take them when I came back with her bottle. Now my husband and I are not aggressive ppl and we don’t model this behavior at home so I’m just not sure what to do anymore.

Can you give tips on how to correct children ages 7 and 8 one girl and one boy; who have become introduced to adult matters that are sexual? From the television, to songs, to actually seeing these acts at home and at school. Im baffled at the amout of conversations they have which is centered around this topic. The girl who is 7 is behaving as if she 15. Wanting to wear heels, clothing that is too revealing, and wanting to wear makeup. When I was growing up this was not the norm. To make matters worse, no one else in the family sees what I see or thinks that it is a problem. They both have not mastered self regulation. Simple things like waiting to go on an elevator they can't stand still and they are very loud. In a library, restaurant, etc. No self control

Consistency is key. It takes 30 days to change a behavior. If he is used to listening to you only when you yell or hit then that is what he has been trained to do. Things can change if you start a new method and use it for 30 days straight. Things take time and effort.

What about the scenario … its bed time and they need to lay down and be quiet but they keep messing around. Your nursing the baby and their brother is trying to obey but is enticed and starts interacting with his brother. Then I end up getting snappy which I hate. I don’t want to control my children with my frustration. It’s truly foolish yet I find myself struggling. At the same time I need them to be quiet and lay there u til they fall asleep. He has shown the ability to do this when I’m napping her and he wants to be in the room. (Not his nap time just wants to be near me) and he is able to do so just fine mid day. Ideas?!

I would listen to "good inside" and offer them reassurance at first. So saying "I know you really wanted that snack, but dinner is almost done so we'll eat soon." And keep reassuring the emotion is normal. "I know it's so frustrating" etc. For the screaming mine need to go to their room. They can go on their own or "with my help." When they have control they can come out of their room. A boundary is something you control. So we can't control other people, only ourself. If they're screaming and throwing blocks. Tell them "I'm taking the blocks away." "I'm taking the TV away" "I'm putting you back on your chair." Etc. Sometimes I can talk my little one when he's yelling and he'll come down from it. But my older one would not. So really just depends on the kid. 2,3,4 you're probably going to have some screaming bc of the age though. You may even be able to hold them and get them out of it. But if you yell it will just get worse. Goodluck 😂
