This was very educational. I took notes. The sadness I feel is that I lose the connection and bond when I yell at or threaten my children. I’m happy to have come across this video. I think every parent really needs to do this. I am praying that more families watch this and change, and for my own family- far from perfect, be really changed by this. Thank you.

Be clear with your instruction. Give concise direct request. Limit too much option Apply consequences to wrong actions Follow through on your actions Work on bonding with them. Thanks Jady

"parents are giving children's so many choices it's overwhelming to them it's always give them power" "they're not mature enough to make that decision yet" say it louder for the folk in the back 👏👏👏 just found your videos and I'm appreciate of your advice and knowledge! thankyou ❤️

Clear and concise directions is what I've been missing. Oh my... I clearly understand Jady. It's clear what I've been doing wrong. Thank you so much! You're amazing 🙂.

Thank you for this video! I work with children and it’s amazing how many children don’t listen. They respond to clear directions and I feel they are relieved to have the structure.

Thank you so much for this video!!! I keep wondering what my husband and I have been doing wrong with our 5 year old? He is strong-willed and wants things his way. The sad part is, I’m a teacher who has received recognition for having excellent classroom management. I can manage my 160 plus students (different classes), but I come home and I feel like a failure with only one child😩

Children are great... My child is teaching me a lot. He is just four years old.. they know so many things already, we just need to refresh and retain them and learn from them.

I’m very thankful and grateful for this wonderful opportunity to change my actions with my kids. To be a better mom. Bc I’m always hollering. Instead of being direct, I was blind to this to be honest. THANK YOU SO MUCH, May GOD continue to use you, to help us on raising the kids the right way.

Thank you so much for these helpful tips. Thank God I 'stumbled' upon your page just yesterday. I clearly had been giving the babies in the creche too many options. The challenge I face now is with a two year old in my school. She learned to respond only to threats and bribes to get her to listen. This little girl is so smart though and now we are teaching her letter sounds. But it is so challenging to get her to listen. It is really important for teachers and parents to be on the same page with these adorable kids.

I feel like crying right now. You are 100% right. I spanked my 3 year old probably 5 times now and realize it isn't working. I feel horrible knowing that it only confuses her . Why would daddy hurt me? Thank God I watched your video. I'm changing course and applying the lessons you have generously laid out. Thank you emphatically!

Hi, Jady! Thanks for giving us these instructions and advices, 'cause sometimes we can forget what to do, or how to do this in the best way to teach our children how to behave, and i also add that the most proper way to do this is trough the Bible, who is best to teach about goodness, truth than Jesus who is the MAster? the one who has created us, he knows our hearts and minds So that's why i believe in Jesus teachings and it brings not just good behaves , but also LIFE. Ephesians 6:4 4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. May God Bless you and your family. ;)

Thanks you a million times Judy. I really appreciate this video. As a teacher over 5 Years I have found out that there is a time to be firm about some decisions in order to guide the children properly. Am glad I came across this because recently am just feeling am not getting it right due to recent trend of parenting where children are given veto power over every thing and once you try being firm you are seen as been mean and unfriendly. Thank you for giving me the courage to continue on the right part in order to make right choice for our children.

Thank you for giving this information. I ran into your video Watchung other videos and it came up below another I was watching but didn't seem to get much help from. You are telling me things I know but you explain things in a more relatable way and reinforce WHY you take the actions and give examples. I appreciate that AND I can't wait to check out the book you referenced. I just bought it! I have a strong willed child who is very smart and having stubbornness with following instructions from time to time. I'm on a mission to break this habit. Thank you again for this!❤

I watched this and all i can think of is my husband. He is like that child who NEVER listens. After 8yrs of marriage, I'm only starting to follow through with consequences. He has narcissistic behaviours that probably doesn't know nor believe He has. This all began when he was a child. i know this because he has narrated his parent's parenting style.

Trying to get my 2 1/2 year old to listen to instructions and behave. He will not sit and stay in time out. He becomes more unruly and disobedient. I’ve resorted to raising my voice. Any suggestions? He refuses all instructions my husband and I give him. We’ve tried starting potty training and he refuses even using the potty. We are at our wits end and the only thing we can think of is spanking but don’t want to do that. We don’t know what to do. He gets into literally everything in our house, makes messes he refuses to pick up and we are running out of places to put things that we’ve taken away.

Thank you so much! What do you do when your child doesn't want to do time out and is getting violent? Do you use force to carry the child into another room and sit with them in the room? I have a calm down corner in our dining room, but since there's no door, he keeps getting up and walking out of it. In this case, would you put the time out/calm down zone in a room?

Tell them they can walk on their own and nicely hold your hand, or you will carry them across. Kids usually like to do it on their own. Practice hand holding and praise a lot before getting into dicey situations.
