I am glad to see Mugatu came out of retirement to launch this new add campaign. I am a branding guy, I like modern minimalism, including sans-serif fonts (although I also appreciate serif fonts) but this is such a bad direction for this brand. It's a brand about heritage (as dubious as theirs is, certainly now), not friendly cute modern.

I nearly leased the I-Pace back in 2020. It was the chapest monthly payment for an EV luxury vehicle. It’s was the nicest EV design back then. The big problem was the cabin space and lack of software and infotainment design. I believe they did not update their infotainment for 2 years and were advertising last year’s models a few years ago. They were car of the year cause they were advertising dumping their I-Pace on every car review channel. I ended up buying a 2020 Tesla Model Y with FSD and don’t regret my decision. I will be buying an EV in 2025 and it seems it will be a Tesla Model Y once again.

I previously noted the influence of Mugatu but after actually watching the video, I think more of an updated Sprockets.

Budweiser just wanted to sell more beer. They had no idea rednecks would be so violently opposed to letting people they demonize drink their nickel swill. Jag isn't even making cars. This ad campaign feels more like throwing everything at the wall to see if anything will stick.

Thank you for the sensible coverage of what is a... silly(?) topic. I've never been a fan of marketing and advertising, even though they are essential to our way of life. I'd like to bring 1982 me (just after watching Blade Runner) forward in time and get his opinion on the good and the bad things happening today. He had a theory that you wouldn't be able to afford a house in the year 2000 unless you put giant Coca-Cola adds on your roof. He also had a theory that you wouldn't be able to buy music, but only pay a small bit for each song you listened to.

90s me knew the future would be expensive, but had no idea we wouldn't be able to get simple repairs done around the house for less than $200/hour.

This new image for Jaguar is a death-nell for the brand. Jaguar's history is one of iconic sports cars and powerful luxury saloon cars, and this advert, although creating a buzz, will put off so many of the old school buyers, as well as the new younger, more affluent buyers. It looks like a Bud Light disaster in the making, but one that will alienate the majority of their client base - and the advert is so out of touch with the shift away from the left to the right in politics. Very sad as I loved my Jaguars.

Every 60-year-old man who just bought this vehicle this year is now trying his best to get away from it! You thought their resale value and depreciation was crazy before, LOL, try to see if you can sell it now hahaha

Steel trap, my friend. In my teens and early adult life people thought the way I don't forget things just fills my head with useless information, and at the time they were right. Now that I'm an analyst it turns out that the ability to recall small details from the past is incredibly useful for spotting patterns others would gloss over.

Strange advert but Jaguar need to rebrand away from the current demographic because they will die along with their current dwindling customers, you said it yourself with an 80 year old father. They have been selling fewer and fewer cars and have been seen as old mens cars on both sides of the Atlantic for a long time now. It's do or die and I think Jaguar Land Rover owned by Tata of India are going to have huge problems in the next few years.
