Topflite Corsair Saito FG90 R3 22x12 3 blade prop.

i switched out the 24x12 2 blade xoar prop with a 22x12 scale 3 blade prop that i got from Gerhard @ aircraft international . the FG90 was just unloading too hard into the 7,000rpm + range with the 2 blade so this 3 blade keeps the rpm below 6500 and will hopefully make my FG90 last longer. Also as a note i ment to say the engine is running a bit lean in the video as i said it was running rich=D

Beautiful. A heads up. Looks like all of saitos' r3 engines need intake manifold mods. I have 2 of them. Cylinder temps and #2 cylinder flooding.

That prop at start up looked to flex quite a bit.....I never noticed that before. I looked at those didn't see pricing anywhere....are those foam planes? Has anyone ever printed a plane airframe yet, do you know of any that were?

If it’s tuned for 90 degree day then on a day that it’s cooler say 70 then it will run more lean not richer. It will have a boost in performance on cooler days. On hotter days it will lag on performance.

yes you are right . i dont always mean what i say when i am flying and talking. i tuned this engine on a 90 degree day in 2017 and havnt touched it since. =D

Hi.the prop hub was the one available through tower when i built the model years ago. Just had to try this 3 blade but woild really like a vario 4 blade next .

How hard was mounting the new cowel ? Did you have to redesign how to mount it?

I used a fiberglass specialties cowl as the stocker was too small.yes the arf did have offset.

Thank You Michael! this model is the topflite ARF. this channel originally started with just micro models and stick and tissue rc conversions and than went into many of my other models as novelty of the micro rc planes wore off. the truth is i have been flying since the early 90s and could only dream of the models i have today. i cut my teeth on a midwest mustang .40 with a os .45 max and i still have an exact copy model in my videos on my channel. my biggest plane of the 90s was a extra 260 with a supertiger 3000 nitro engine. thanks for following my progress!! these are my dream models and im so glad to be able to fulfill my dreams.

i built this ARF 3 years ago and at that time it was the 2nd to last one that tower hobby had in stock.there is rumors that topflite will be releasing RTC ready to cover corsairs in the near future. there is a topflite zero RTC in stock right now so i am really hoping this rumor is true. =D
