I understand that if these guys get banned they will just keep doing it, but even so Jagex should be banning them faster than they can even sell gold. How do you not detect cheat clients that do 9-way switches every other tick while running and swapping prayers/spells? It might be possible for someone to do a 6-way or 9-way switch tick perfectly once, but 4 or 5 times instantly? That should just be an instant ban.

Things like a variance in time between clicks and not clicking the exactly same spot every time would pretty clearly differentiate between real players and scripts. I think the most important part is that if jagex started banning these people, it would significantly hinder the willingness of these people to use these scripts. The entire point is to make gp, so risking their entire expensive setup isn’t really feasible. Add that to the fact that it would be hard (or at least expensive) to build or buy a new maxed account (because there’s no gp in rushing low levels) and it would take most of these guys out of the game pretty quick.

Honestly I don't see a reason why you would go out in PvP to fight these guys. As seen in the video they're using animation stalls, AHK , Auto eater, Auto spec, Auto prayer and what not. This leaves you in huge disadvantage and you're just going to give your gear to them for absolutely no effort on their part. I've been playing OSRS since I was a kid, nearly 20 years now and it's gotten to a point where I treat it like a single player game. Over the course of two decades I've been burned by scammers/cheaters enough times where I've come to the conclusion that any interaction with another player is going to end in disaster. I'd like to argue also that I'm not an exceptionally gullible ringnut, I'm fairly savvy but the desperation and dedication of these people to get their hands on video game gold is soo fever pitch that their machinations, schemes and of course out right cheating are sophisticated enough to catch out people even if they have their guard up. I've not enjoyed OSRS as an MMO for nearly ten years because of this.

jagex hasnt done anything significant for 10 years and theyre not going to start now, every single boss has a dedicated, extremely profitable bot farm, and every pvp world has cheaters using bot clients to guarantee a kill on anyone. I follow the rules. Been banned only once. Usually play on ironman but wanted to check up on my main, which turned out to be banned for botting for some reason. Didn't know why, so I made an inquiry. They quickly responded with "account was used for botting, but it looks like the account was probably hacked" and they restored my account for me right away. Haven't had an issue since.

Now, I'm not implying anything, but death threats in written form are against the law, even in international countries A quick phone call to their nations police would probably see them arrested. Technically the prime was edgeville pking/pvp with chaotics I think and ancient statuettes, random pvp drops etc, before the evolution of combat and osrs even came out. However, the prime of osrs I'm not too sure which that would be! Lots of diff updates tbh. I liked the era of pvp worlds being packed full and when revs was multi combat, it was popping then tbh pvp wise!

Would it be a weird suggestion to implement a challenge offer, if you want to fight someone you can run up to them to instead offer them to fight you. They can then accept or deny the offer. To me personally that would seem like a decent fix, and if not, have certain areas in the game where the current way of pking remains the same.

@@abrady6740 the problem is it varies and it's one of the few skillful elements in this game. With Anti-Drag, some people can legitimately do 6 way switches instantly. Hell, I bet there are a few that can do 7 way swaps. Others can't even get close. Do we hard cap something just because most people can't do it? It's not really addressing the core problem. Even if your idea is implented, cheaters will continue to have an advantage via insta-prayer reading, insta tele, perfect speccing, etc..

I lost 1.75b back when the magic cape scam was hitting the duel arena. Jagex didn’t even have the decency to reply. It was a bug in their game. It was ultimately their fault and they didn’t do anything about it. Things will never change obviously…

Add 10 second Cooldown to swaping gear. Increase tick count for swapping gear, add 1 tick to eating food. Problem Solved

To us its a game we're invested in to Jagex unfortunately it's a business, if they ban all these paying cheaters their revenue will drop and they will not make enough off us regular players so sadly we just get ignored

Unfortunately, the only way to stop bots (in any game), or hackers/aimboters that are littered throughout FPS games, is make the game cost at least $1USD. No free trial. Once a character is found out to be a bot, that account/all characters/associated email is perma-banned. 1,000 bots now equates to $1,000USD and it makes the financial incentive to bot very limiting. Yes, there are ways around it. Yes, there would still bots, but it would drastically reduce the floods that MMOs (all MMOs) get. Hackers in FPS would stop if they would lose all their achievments/rank if you made the game cost at least $1 and have their BattleNet/Activision Accounts banned.

There's a simple solution to this. If possible, permanently ban MAC addresses (device) instead of accounts. If not, permanently bad IP's and disable VPN IP's from being able to play. Sure, some unfair situations would arise every now and then, but eventually you'd have saved so much time on botting bans that it wouldn't be a hassle to individually review those cases.
