Very nice work Chuck, I did work on the right floor and boot, welded in. Left door I made from metal, having the other door as template, rear lights made of Stainless and frames inside the back of the body because of giving me the wrong rear end with the car cut of the original rear. So I made metal for the underside, closing the part for the other series 3 plus 2+2. Lot of work, but it's hobby.

Great! 30 years ago, I would love to do all the lead filling on that! I was taught lead loading and filling by an ex Pressed Steel Fisher man.

Hi Chris. How long does it take to learn to lead load panels because I would love to be able to do that kind of work. Also did you learn the English wheel. Thank you.

@@russcooke5671 No, I never learned to wheel, but planishing, shrinking, gas welding and brazing etc. Lead filling can be learned in a day, then you need a lot of practice. I only did it skilfully for 5 or 6 years before I left the trade. There are some good videos that show the basics - there's a channel called Chrome and Car Restoration who are excellent chrome platers, and they use lead filling so you'll see the way they do it. They don't rinse the flux off like I was taught, because it will be rinsed off in their tanks, but that's very important - it's an active flux so it will rust the steel very quickly.

Absolutely love your passion and perfection Chuck . I thought the ducts appeared to be spot welded but l did know about the louvres . Do you leave the final trim fitment on the bonnet because of the space frames flexing as the engine and suspension weight alters the bonnet alignment ? Thanks Chuck . This is really ticking all my boxes !

very nice Chuck . wow welded flanges on bonnett what a committment . So glad Jaguar went to urethaned on flanges later . Do you keep a set of perfect pieces ,as prototypes to build each body to ? or do you find since all jag panels were hand made in Jaguar , there is such variance , that you basically build each body unique and individual . with slight variance ?

An entire E-type in bare metal is a rare sight. But at what cost? Does Chuck care to share the price of such a thing?

I recon about £ 30. 000. And then about £ 5.000. For paint But it’s just a guess I could be way out.
