Step by step instructions on how I fixed my coolant leak on the 2015 F-Type. Coolant reservoir cracked. 68k miles.

Sal, got the good old burnt oil smell today in my e90 335i n55, just ordered the valve gasket cover for $470. 00. I'm trying to do all maintenance before I do the PS2.

The coolant does not need to be on the max fillline or? I refilled it the last days aswell and put a bit out from it because i was scared that putting it on maxfill is too much. now its a bit under max fill and stays there :) Should be good

Nice video, I have a F-type V6, Do you know the issue with the water hose? It leaks due to a high temperature and the engine can burn out

Thanks! Yes I am aware of the coolant leak issue with the pipes. It’s the Y pipe under the supercharger. That one needs to remove supercharger to get access. Another common leak is the rear of the engine, another coolant pipe that connects bank 1 and bank 2 together usually can leak.

Just replaced mines, but I used new same spring style clamp.. You are right they are a pain, but several mechanics recommend. I use them to avoid leaks. They provide a even pressure all around the hose with the heating cycles expanding and contracting hose. Any leaks from yours yet with old worm style clamp? BTW Great video!

the hose connecting thetank is worn and should have been replaced is swollen and coolant is leaking

I think you should have removed the other two bolts holding the strut bar at the fire wall . It's a pain in the butt but would have made sliding the tank out easier .;just my opinion

can you replace head gaskets on the 2015 f type s? the dealer said its better just to replace the whole engine…..

Sorry that you’re having issues. I can’t work on that since it requires the engine to be out of the car. Hopefully you can get Jaguar to replace the engine.

@@Sals_Garage i’m not asking if you personally could work on it lol. I’m asking if I could take it to a machine shop to resurface the heads so When I replace the head gaskets they will seat properly. Jaguar tech said its better to just replace the whole engine… lmaooo screw that.

Genuine orange antifreeze from Jaguar mix of 50/50 with water.

No! No! No! Do not replace spring clamps with worm clamps! Those worm clamps are NOT for hoses that get hot and cold! Spring clamps provide continuous tension on a hose. They do this as the hose expands when it is hot and deflates when it is cold. Worm clamps do not do this! Instead, as the hose expands and contracts, worm hoses don't change at all. That's why you end up with hoses that start bulging around them. Eventually what happens is the hose will become loser over time, as it goes through the expand and contract cycles, and you will develop a leak that you will only see when it is cold and will go away after the hose heats up. Then, the hose will need to be replaced. Worm style clamps are fine for areas that don't experience expand/contract cycles, but are horrible for areas that do. That's why they were replaced on Jaguars except in areas where there will be no heat/cold cycles, such as air intake hoses. DO NOT replace any more of your houses with those worm style hoses! Just buy the $12 tool that allows you to get the spring clamps off easily and look at it as an investment. Otherwise, this was a great video.
