I found heavy rain in the cold (zero or below) changes efficency from 3.1 to 2.9 miles per kwh.

You don’t live far from me. Done that trip many times. Just moving on to an EV so nice to know you did that run.

2.5miles/kWh! I would be crying at those numbers. The joy of a big SUV I suppose. I will stick to my ioniq 38kw and 5miles /kWh in winter. Last Oct I was getting 6.7miles on warm days. Can't wait for next summer to see what it will do. (only purchased Oct second hand) I hear the mache-e is 2.5miles also this time of the year

I've watched several Ionic owners' videos and the energy consumption is about 25% better than any other EV of similar size.

@@briangriffiths114 lowest I've had is 4.5miles, that was a steady 75-80mph on motorway with bit of 60mph dual carriageway /a roads. with heating on 20c auto over 180 mile round trip. Could just have made it home on 1 charge if I was stupid enough to leave until pretty much flat and slow down a bit . . So a 15 min charge not far from home at 9% got me home with spare.if only more elec vehicles did better efficiency.

@@electricfocus1710 shame about the awful software on the Ioniq, mine was in the dealers four times and I had several more flat 12v occurrences after they fixed the water in the doors shorting the electrics fiasco. The car wouldn't reliably shut down all the 37 ECUs😃. The car was unreliable, a shame as that's the most important thing about any car. It had to go for that reason.

My Fiat 500e returns around 3.35 miles per KWh in similar temperatures instead of its usual 4.0 to 4.5 miles per KWh over the rest of the year. Given the size, weight and performance advantage of your car compared with mine, your figure seems reasonable.

Question for you. How does the preconditioning work. Does the car need to be charged to 100% then it will start? Dont have the app didn't see the need for it. I also do not have level two at home but have plenty of superchargers. Noticed that it was only charging at 14kw so my question to you is how can I make the battery heat up while driving to get it to its optimal temp if I'm out and about. Look forward to hearing from you

Hi, Yes, the Jaguar I-PACE needs to be at least 100% charged and plugged into a wall for at least 30 minutes before departure for battery preconditioning to work. There is no function to precondition out on the road like a Tesla unfortunately. When you say you were only getting 12kW was this on a charger over 100kWs? If so never seen that slow unless the car was nearly at 100%?

Might take a little bit of time to warm up but I’ve not seen that slow at 60% even in minus conditions. May have been a charger issue.

I’ve tried a few different Tesla superchargers with my MY23, they’re all dog slow, even the V4 ones. I went to Trentham gardens at 2am and no one around and it only gave 40kw 👎🏼

Good vid. The i-Pace is horrendously inefficient for almost a 90kWh battery. And Jaguar have seemingly not improved it much at all even though it came to market a few years ago already. I know it drives nicely but charge speed (

Thanks and yes agree there’s a lot more choice now and Hyundai/Kia have launched some great cars in the Ionic 5 and EV6.

I should be a i-Pace owner next week and just downloaded the Tesla app. There is actually TWO Tesla supercharger less than 5 km from my home, in the French small city of Saint-Julien en Genevois and I live in Geneva (Switzerland) suburb.

Yes the range isn’t great but hey ,,,,it’s a Jag , they ain’t supposed to be economical .

WOW, soooo many people falling for the net zero nonsense, the most environmentally friendly car is a used one, want the government to have the ability to CONtrol your movements?………….buy an EV, an EV has nothing to do about the environment but everything to do about CONtrol, wake up!!!

I didn’t switch to an EV due to the environment although there are clearly benefits, you can’t argue against cleaner air. It’s fantastic tech, I love the instant torque, ease of driving and the convenience of charging at home.

🏔🌨🍙🥶⛓🪝🌫🌌 In planet´s cold zones You could get stuck in snow ❄for some hours or even days. If You need 1kW/h to heat🌡, range gets even more reduced...📉☃
