Thanks for the video. I have to wait a few more weeks for my S 21MY. I ordered it practically blind in autumn, as there was practically no information available except from marketing. I would be particularly interested in the adaptations of the Pivi Pro to the EV Features of the I-Pace and whether the 3D park view can also display higher objects such as walls.

You can see wall on the 3D camera to a point. If You you pop to your local dealer they should have one on the road now as a demo or you can see the camera on the new Defender as it has the same system. This way you can see it first hand. Hope this helps. 👍👍 enjoy your new car when you get it.

Great review. Many thanks. I just bought my 21MY and I love it. However, a few glitches are very annoying. I will just list two of them: #1 no automatic parking system even in HSE model; #2 Apple AirPlay doesn't work with all iPhone models (eg: 11 Pro). I am referring to OS 2.0.8a P3AX from 19th Feb 2021. Hopefully, it will be solved soon.

Thanks for the comment, it is sad about the parking I miss that. The Apple car play on mine did work and I use the same phone. But I updated to apples new software and now it glitches. Sadly I am being told that Apple do not tell manufacturers about the updates so JLR have to react to the problem. But they will lm, and it will most probably do this through the internal sim built into the car. Keep an eye on the update section in the car. 👍👍👍👍

Great video and thanks for going over the new features! Have you tried charging at a >100kW charger? There were some reports that the MY2021 could charge at 120kW or even 150kW.

Hi yes you go up to 120kw to 150kw on the 21MY. I have not used 100kw post yet but been told it can handle it and it very quick. 👍👍 thanks for watching.

If you find yourself at 150kw charger (ideally at a low state of charge) please consider posting a video. It would be a game changer if the I-Pace was actually able to sustain 140-150kw for a significant amount of time.

Before I make any comments about the car, I just like to say a lovely video 👍🏻 I’m glad to see the 21MY has answered a couple of my biggest gripes of the original , most importantly the ClearSight camera rear view mirror system. As it was truly awful trying to see out the back on wet British roads, especially as there’s no rear wiper Secondly it looks like they’ve adopted 40:20:40 splitting rear seats after the archaic and less useable 60:40 previously And I love the car having an instrument binnacle and a start button, I hate in other brands where you just get in and drive, Jag makes it an experience and performance and it’s classy Also from using the older one I’m so glad you guys have the charging point at the front. It makes it so easy to drive into a charging station and with the cables in the Froot is brill. Also means you can use the boot to put your shopping in or get you bike out or sports gear whilst it’s parked charging away 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 I’m not a great lover of the ten year old shiny and scratchy piano wood look, it was bad enough in my old Rangie, but there’s far too much in here. I hope there’ll be a matt choice or even open pore wood or carbon fibre, for something so modern and hi-tech etc Also I’ve seen the Blackberry Pivi Pro system in a friend’s New Defender and really like it, but it just seems too narrow in his and there’s like a naturally gap in the dashboard for a bigger size display in the future, helping to make the symbols bigger and easier to touch In this Jag with the shiny piano look, it seems even smaller I hope there’ll soon be a 12” or 14” option to choose in both these JLR products as the 10” is too small , so please please do offer this 🙏🏻 Another odd question, in Jags of old you could get different colour Growler Badges and and wheel centres. As someone who’s not a lover of red, can you get it in black or British racing green as an option ?? !! And my last query / question, can it be ordered without the naff gangster wannabe tinted rear glass 🧐 I’ve driven the old one and loved it and this is a big improvement, the car is to be the best EV out there , not the fastest, not the biggest range, but the best to drive and looks great and the build quality from the Austrians is a different galaxy away from my old XJ I’m still gobsmacked that Jag got there first in the luxury EV market ahead of the Germans etc. So the future hopefully will be bright and you’ll be rewarded for being so brave 🤘🏻 Looking forward to some more vids of this car #StaySafe 🦠😷

Firstly thanks for watching, the rear view mirror has the function to brighten the screen up and adjust the angle up and down from button situated on the underside of the rearview mirror. I did not show this in the video but I’m super impressed on how clean and dry it has stayed throughout this week in this horrendous weather. Regarding the wood yes you can have a real word, carbon fibre you can change it on the configurator online to look at the different in colour choices. This car was ordered with Blackwood sadly I did not order the spec of the car it was century allocated to me. I know you can change the colour of the badges on the car from black to silver as to the centre caps good idea, I will look into that through the parts department. Privacy glass has it place on certain cars say with black packs as it complements a black detail fitted to the car, but I do like the cars without black packs and privacy glass as it opens a car up as it looks a little bit more regal and special. I think on the 21MY XE and XF Will have a larger screen like some of the other cars off it in its market sector so this may come when they do facelift the IPace in the future, but this is only me guessing. Great feed back i sadly don’t work directly with JLR but for a franchise, I always love to feed great ideas 💡 back 👍👍 thanks Please stay safe and well. It’s funny times at the moment.

@@RRW yeah ClearSight is awesome , I knew about the adjustments to it from my mate’s new defender , as it had looked too high originally until he noticed the icons that appear on the mirror face It deserves to sell more and when you see one in the flesh it looks so much better than in videos or pictures I’m quite jealous as it looks lovely and should be a great companion over the winter too #StaySafe 🦠😷

Yes the IPace roof is lower than the Evoque. The seat is a little lower than the Evoque. If you need seat higher to help getting in snd out the EPace or the Evoque are great.

Thanks for showing some of the details of the Pivi pro system from a users perspective (fed up with marketing bla-bla). Love your honest comments. I am, right now, racking my brain about signing the contract for a MY21 I-Pace lying on my desk (or for a not-to- be-named alternative EV). Do you have experience on the actual power consumption in real driving conditions, is it still as bad as the pre-Facelift model in that regard? The consumption is the only thing that is a con for me - what good is huge battery pack good for, if you still only get 200 miles out of it... *sigh*. Greetings from Switzerland!

I am happy to let you know what I get out of my first charge once I have done a few more miles. The good thing is that you can now go up to a 150kw charger on the 21MY that reduces the charge time massively. I have done 114 miles and the car is telling me I have 124 miles left of charge. I have driven it hard ( it is new and power is great) and I live in a hilly area. Thanks for watching I really appreciate you commenting.

@@gerradwalker6222 I am very happy with my now nearly two year old MY21. Nearing the 34'000 km threshold and first service. Pivi pro had a few much needed updates (stable 2.3.1 at the moment, 3.0 is around the corner). Fast charging had some updates, too, so the cat now reliably charges at 70-110 kW between 20 and 60% SoC, which is rather mediocre compared to the competition, but fast enough for my needs, as I charge at home 95% of the time. Great drivers car, comfortable at longer travel distances, still a head-turner design wise. Has been a reliable commuter and even regularly tows 750kg (a sin for this nimble cat, I know :) ) Weak points are the still not useful charging stop planning of the SatNav and the rather high consumption at highway speeds, and missing driver assist systems compared to other brands. This is where even the MY23 is now starting to lag behind. I would really wish to see a thorough Refresh tech-wise for the upcoming model years. I really hope JLR will update the I-Pace and not replace it with some SUV, like an electric E-Pace.

At last!!!! A JLR KZbinr that knows what he is talking about and actually shows a prospective buyer the features of the new 21 model year. You refer to "PriviPro" ? Am I right in thinking that this is only introduced for 21 and not retrofitable to early models? I was intending to buy a mint 2020 model but don't want to be frustrated waiting for slow processing through the interface. Maybe a list of what's new beteeen 20 - 21 model years? Thanks buddy. The new system Pivi Pro is new to most 21MY JLR Products. Sadly you can not retrofit this as it has its own battery system so it fire up so much quicker so the driver can use the infotainment faster. 👍

@@RRW Okay - that asnwers the question. I'm surprised that JLR doesn't offer it as a retro-fit, sort of leaving earlier buyers in the lerch. I've seen many comments regarding this and owners say they found pre-2020 models frustratingly slow. Thank you for coming back to me. The dealership is arranging a loan I-Pace for a few days so I can see if it will replace my main car in the garage. Opposite ends of the spectrum! Cheers.

I have got a 2021 i-pace HSE with Pivi Pro system. I love the car very much especially the Meridian Audio system playing my AAC and M4P music. I am curious if the Meridian can play MP4 videos?

I don’t think I’m think can, as I have tried. I think you need an audio specialist to fit something extra to the car to make this work.

Very Nice review. I like everything about this car Except the LAGGY infotainment system. I don’t understand why the manufacturer can’t spend a few couple of hundred bucks to upgrade the hardware and make it as snappy as mobiles and tablets. It seems to improve a bit compared to previous version. However it’s still way too slow in processing and displaying the info. It’s a shame that Kia e-Niro system seems a lot faster than this. After all the people who can afford this over 80k car will still be willing to pay a bit extra for a better user experience. This is the only thing I found it really annoying.

The best way is to build your car on line, to see what is extra or standards. but I do know keep Lane assist is standard from the S model up wards. Once built and depending on the model you are looking at go to the summery page and click on standard features. Is will list all you need to know. That stand spec in my opinion is really good . Very good question, I’ve been wondering that myself. In the Portuguese website it doesn’t mentions the active lane keeping assist anymore. Though it does in the french one. So idk if the feature is available in some countries only or simply the information is missing from the Portuguese website

Enjoyed the review. I have spoken to a number of dealers who say timed charging is possible however I have not had one explain how to do it! JLR don't seem to cover this in any of the videos they produced either other than saying it is possible. You mention it in the video hence asking. Can it be done? Can you point me to another video/manual?

The Discovery’s 360 camera system has an underbody camera for ‘seeing’ off road terrain as you drive. Will the 2021 I PACE 360 camera system have that view also?

See-through bonnet is only on Land Rover product as far as I’m aware. this Jaguar doesn’t have that functionality sadly. 👍

Is Pivi Pro only on the new updated ipace as I have a 2020 model. As far as people going on about miles to the KWH and getting concerned, I get between 2 1/2 and 3 miles sometimes more, this is a very powerful car so don’t worry and enjoy it, and don’t forget it’s a heck of a lot cheaper then a petrol or diesel car.

Thanks for this informative video. I have taken delivery of my MY21 HSE but find that my maps are presented in a black format. I notice your map appears to be in the "normal" light coloured format. Do you know if it is possible to change the format?

Hi Raymond if you settings, left hand side of the screen and then tap auto theme next to the screen off. this will allow you to change the back light from white to black will to have it on auto. I hope this helps and thank you so much for watching.

I drive that Car for more than a year now. The build quality of the interior is very good, the Design is fantastic and the materials are very luxurious. But the electrical Performance is bad - very bad. High energy consumption combined with slow Charging speed at DC chargers.....very bad combination. Question: did. they rebuild the battery management system in MY 21? What is the charging Speed on DC? Did. the car charge with 100 kW for more than 2 Minutes?

I-PACE now comes with an 11kW on-board charger as standard, enabling customers with access to three-phase electricity supplies to enjoy significantly faster charging: when connected to an 11kW wall box 53km/33 miles* of range (WLTP) per hour can be achieved, while a full charge from empty now takes only 8.6 hours - ideal for overnight charging at home. Customers in single-phase markets using 7kW wallboxes also benefit from competitive charging capability - up to 35km/22 miles of charge per hour, with a full charge taking 12.75 hours. When charging ‘on the go’, a 50kW charger will add up to 63km/39 miles in 15 minutes, whilst a 100kW charger will add up to 127km/78 miles over the same period
