I got my black edition about a month ago, and I love it very much. The car I had before was a BMW 3-series touring PHEV which suited my driving style, 85% of my milage was electric but I had the occasional long journey that the petrol engine was useful for. The I-Pace has a nicer, more upright, driving position than the BMW and is more fun to drive. There is plenty of range to get me to my longest journey destination, so no range anxiety. The only slight challenge is that it has quite a big turning circle and the lines in the reversing camera are not particularly accurate, so it took me a few attempts before I automatically line up correctly to reverse into a parking space.

Some downsides, the sound system isn't as sharp as I would like. It's fine for the radio but noticeable when listening to audio books, I've found it's clearer to listen to books and podcasts through my phone instead of through the car. I miss preset buttons for the radio, this isn't specifically an I-Pace issue, most cars need to change station through the infotainment system now. But when there's an emergency, like an unexpected Adele song, it was just so handy to press buttons randomly until she went away. There isn't enough small storage compartments, I have been forced into minimalism and there is a little pile of stuff on my hall table that came out of my old car and won't fit into the new one. The type of things that I might need at short notice, hand cream, lip balm (two flavours), tissues, a key ring with my granddaughters photo, a couple of biros, hair clips, sun screen, hand sanitiser etc. All I really have room for is a water bottle, sunglasses, gate opener, chewing gum and a euro for the trolley.

I have a 2019 SE version for 1.5 years now and it's an awesome car, practical (we are 5, and have 3 dogs), performance and handling are awesome, and multimedia has been updated a few times so there are nearly no more bugs, fit and finish is excellent. Only downside is consumption but in real world that's not so much mire than an EV6 for example (test drove this, and thanks for pointing out that the EV6 was hugely inspired by the I-Pace.). so this baby is probably the most underrated EV now but at least it's quite exclusive, you don't see them everywhere you drive ;)

Those insta360 shots are insane!!! But I think the quality can be better if you use their computer software to export them in ProRes, maybe you used the phone app? Looking forward for more!

Well done. Love this car. Get tired of people saying this is not "updated" enough. Most cars look nowhere near as good, nor drive anywhere near as good as this. Further, most luxury cars in this price range still don't get much more miles on a charge. I agree that Magna should have figured out how to squeeze another 25 miles out of this 90Kw battery pack, but I will take this over a 300 mile Tesla any day.

Enjoyed the review. Drove the car when it first came out and was disappointed. The 360 camera was glitchy and the infotainment system was quite slow. I had hoped you would have spent more time on those two elements. Loved the car otherwise. I have ordered a BMW i4 eDrive 40 and would love to have you review that car. Thanks!

Really like this review - thanks a lot. I have a I-Pace and X2, and really still love it - I cannot find any other car I want. There was an error, when you described the head light adjuster. The light must not be adjustable, since they are LED. They are allways adjusted automaticly. The adjuster adjust the inside lights up/down :-)

Remember Bjorn Nyland reviewing the I-pace when first released and was shocked at how laggy the sat nav was for the price of the car. Is it improved in this revision Derek or is it still the same?

Not anymore, it's an updated system so I was happy with it. Saying that I pretty much always use Android Auto when I can.

500mm wading depth of I-PACE is way better than others and up to 200mm ground clearance also better compared the pricier Taycan Cross Turismo that has taken some of it's limelight

Thanks for the comment B Michael. Yes unfortunately as it is a few years old now it's starting to show in efficiency. Not everyone needs long range so it will suit those looking for a premium electric SUV with medium range
