The new 2022 Jaguar i-Pace is an all-electric crossover that not only looks good, it drives well too. The i-Pace handles more like a sports car than a five-seat crossover, with the interior receiving some cutting-edge design and more than ample passenger space.
Jaguar have given this updated i-Pace a number of improvements. Notably, the i-Pace now offers an enhanced charging system, a 3d surround camera system, digital rear view mirror plus a new infotainment system and over the air updates.Theres a feature that tells you where the nearest charging stations are and how long it should take to restore the battery, plus theres now an 11.0-kW onboard charger that delivers quicker at-home charging than the old 7.0-kW version.
The i-Pace gets standard all-wheel drive thanks to its two electric motors that produce a combined 394bhp. Acceleration is rapid under five seconds with a decent comfortable ride thanks to the air suspension.The battery pack positioning also creates a low centre of gravity that gives the electrified Jag an extra dose of agility and stability.
The i-Pace comes as standard with a touch-sensitive infotainment system that includes a 10" upper screen and a 5.5" lower screen which displays the climate controls and the heated seats. A cool feature of the new software is that it now shows you the locations of charging stations as well as their availability, cost, and charging time, which will definitely help to reduce any range anxiety.
Every i-Pace supports Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and theres also an onboard Wi-Fi hotspot. Tunes can be played on the 825-watt Meridian sound system, which also comes as standard.
The Jaguar i-Pace is an all electric SUV that’s fast, fun, luxurious and very practical, with enough range to make it a car you could potentially use on a daily basis. For those drivers looking to switch to their first luxury EV, Jaguar has definitely set the bar very high.

I've had the 2022 model for 3 months and it's incredible. Love driving it, it's so responsive and fun, with the added luxury. Yes Tesla goes further and has more fast charge stations, with faster car charging, but the drive andthe inside, the Jag is such a better experience and worth the money. UK charging infrastructure will only get better with all the new electric cars on the market and the road. And it's so quick when you need it to be, and so smooth the rest of the time.

Love this I-Pace, I tested more recent Mach E and EV6 and they're not as good to drive ! Still a head turning car, which give you a smile on each turn and acceleration :)

I was lucky enough to be leant one by Jaguar, fresh out of the factory. It is an amazing bit of kit. Mine is being delivered later this year

Great review & I would call it a crossover. Also it’s still very stylish compared to most EVs. Only negative I heard was the range

You can deffo get skis or lumps of 4” by 2” in the back as in the facelift they’ve changed the rear seats from the old fashioned and archaic 60:40 split to the much more practical 40:20:40 🚙👍🏻 Worth getting the three phase charger installed in your home too ⚡️ Pity they no longer offer the 18” wheels with the facelift as they are more comfy and increase range, but they will sell you them for thousands D’oh !!! But for me it is the best all round EV , unless you want to spend double for the Porsche Taycan CrossTourismo 4S I’ll have the Jag and spend the other £75k on some other toys 😎

Fantastic video,honest and to the point.After waiting for an Ioniq5 for five months I bought an ex demonstration Jaguar I pace SE on a 71 plate with 6000 miles on the clock. It's absolutely beautiful and amazing to drive. With the dealer contributions and a free podpoint home charger it cost no more than the Ioniq5.

Hate that lower screen no longer has audio & phone controls - I use this feature more than any other. I routinely get 230 miles in mine

Space saver wheel is huge and takes half the boot! Cables go under Froot. Granny lead is 3kW.

Terrific review. At the end of the day, Jaguar has a mind-numbing list of ‘upgrades’ that I just expect to be part of any luxury vehicle. Their Design team needs a big wonk on the back of the head here. Producing low end aggravating product diminishes the brand. Think customer first!

Unfortunately the WEF increase in petrol prices has caused EVs to sell for almost there brand new price's, so in Australia I'm going to have to wait until second hand price normalise.

the figure for the boot are obviously exaggerated, it’s actually closer to 500 litres do not believe marketing lies and do you own measurements

I own a 2020 I-Pace. I did not do my homework well enough before purchase. The moment I drove the car off the lot, it was obsolete. I watched too many of these types of reviews prior to purchase before I figured out that they are all just fluff pieces and not critical at all. My year I-Pace is plagued with problems, including key fob recognition so troubling that the hands-free door unlock does not work and starting the car takes multiple attempts. JLRNA has told me to go pound sand regarding these issues even though it has been in the shop 30 days in my first 15 months of ownership. Specific to the I-Pace, you will not get 175 miles of USA interstate highway driving on a charge……and that’s in the summer. In winter, plan on close to 155 miles when driving at 75 mph. Realistically, you can do 2.5 hrs of driving for every 1.25 hrs of charging. It’s ridiculous. The infotainment system is slow, cumbersome and shouldn’t be used while driving. The car is smooth, fast, quiet and comfortable. But the positive features pale in comparison to the obsolete charging regiment and the overall quality…….I mean, it is a Jag and we all know the quality issues they have. Unless this newer model solves the problems inherent in this model (they don’t), the I-Pace is a hard NO in the “luxury” EV world. Absolutely a terrible value for the money.

Totally disagree with you on reliability. I have a 2020 pre-update model and it is totally superb as is the Jaguar back up! Mine has the 22” Alloys and that lowers the total range on the Motorway to 175 miles and I do that at rapid speeds. I’ve even been to France in mine too. I did have battery issues within the 1st month & JLR were superb. Gave me a brand new RRS PHEV to use for six weeks while they replaced faulty cells on my battery & compensated me too. The I Pace to drive is a true Jaguar for Pace, Space & Grace! There is nothing to touch it for drive ability, sports SUV road holding, superb build quality & interior with a massive boot! The only EV that drives better is a Taycan & that’s not an SUV. You should have demanded your money back or JLR exchange the car within the 1st month! I didn’t need to do that as JLR’s after service was & is superb. 🇬🇧

@@beaublue1625 Just wondering. how did you know that the car had battery issues? i have a 2019 model with 40k km on it and i know the battery waranty is up to 100k km. Where can i test the state of my cars battery?

Hi Joachim, my I Pace couldn’t even do a 100 miles on a full charge despite showing 197 when fully charged (still very low I know). JLR were brilliant. I had to complain to Jaguar themselves but they assigned me a personal after care manager. Admittedly, my battery error was probably a one off and it’s been perfect now for nearly 2 years.
