Beautiful car. That’s why I leased one. I looked at Tesla’s but I’m a big guy and the cars were too small for me. Not to mention, too expensive for the options I wanted. Lastly, I wanted something different than a Tesla. Everyone has a Tesla.

The I-Pace has nice lines but is quite cramped inside and is inferior in every metric against the Performance Model 3 they drove earlier, especially range. No one gets 470km out of it, more like 350km max. You really notice it when road tripping - the Model 3 can use the Tesla fast charger network charging at 120kW whereas the Jag is limited to about 80kW, which is actually 46kW - the fastest public fast charger in NZ. It’s pretty tiring when the presenters go on about how long slow charging at home takes. No one charges from 0% at home so realistically you are talking a few hours to top up or an overnight charge max. The convenience of this is astounding as is never having to go out of your way to a petrol station.

Thanks for your feedback Laurence. You raise some good points. And you're right, the Model 3 is better in pretty much all metrics than the the I-Pace, but it misses out on one key one - desirability. Anyway, that's why cars are so fascinating isn't it. It's never a one-size-fits all. Cheers for watching.

CarNut how can anyone say, with a straight face, that the Model 3 (M3) is better all the way around. I drove an M3 and the Jaguar blows away the M3, in my opinion, in all metrics except range. The M3 is cheaply made, the interior feels like a Honda Civic in that it has a cheap feel. The jaguar blows away in ride comfort, luxury interior, looks, build, and passenger room. Of course we are all entitled to our opinions, but I’m sorry, there is no way the M3 looks and feels better than an IPACE.
