Current owner of a 2004 STR, very much in love with it! The centre console change you talk of, is it only for Android platforms? Do you have a link of them? Thanks for sharing your video!

I owned 2 of them, both 05’s. Definitely a love/hate relationship. It’s hard to enjoy them because something always goes wrong. From endless leaks to electrical problems, weird sensor malfunction codes, etc. Every time I would fix something, I would drive it for a week, and then something else. I finally had to say goodbye. I definitely wish the cars would have been more enjoyable to own, because I really wanted to love it.

Surprisingly this one has been pretty reliable besides the auxiliary belt and O2 sensors. But definitely a lovely car to drive and be in with so much power!

I had a 04 s type r and 04 XJR loved them both and only issues I had was things I was aware of oh and obviously oil changes and spark plugs I mean neither of them ever left me stranded shoot my XJR I put 40k miles on in just a year and a half. They are honestly my favorite trims ever . Super reliable IMO … wait no they are horrible I’ll buy yours for 1k. Haha

OK so to set the record straight and put my ACKCHEWALLY t-shirt on here. 1. Unless its been modified these had no LSD as standard. 1 tyre fire a go go in this. Us owners wish to god they had put an LSD into them as it transforms the car. Chassis etc can easily handle this power but why scrimp on a LSD? Thanks Jaguar! A few owners have fitted them and its worth doing! 2. Alpine was NOT standard in the S-Type R. It was still an option and 1 worth taking. My 30 year old mustang has better sounds in it than this does. The whole system as standard is dated complicated and a bit rubbish. The Alpine improves the quality a fair bit. 3. The sports button does NOTHING to the suspension. All it does is affect the gearbox and keeps it in a lower gear for longer. Doesnt affect throttle response, steering or suspension setup. It is purely there to affect the upshift on the gearbox (delay it) and downshifts earlier if you prod the throttle with it switched on. The suspension is an active damper setup but its not adjustable. 4. Cupholders do come in it as shown, 2 different types. The earlier ones are a nicer setup but the rubberised coating peels and later ones have a slot for smaller drinks and one for larger. 5. I am running with the backbox delete, smaller charger pulley (6%) and a range rover plenum intake. The exhausts will change nothing on the power but the pulley, plenum and a good panel filter are all worthy mods. Your neighbours will roll eyes at the backbox delete especially at 4am. Hope this helps
