Thank you for showing all components with close ups. My front door handle stopped working and it seems the rod is detached from the handle... Unfortunately i have to remove the window in order to get the front door handle off. However the detailed images here give me hope to try and connect it again without taking everything out.

You shouldn't need to remove the window. If you close it fully you should have access to everything.

In my case, maybe because it was the front door, I needed to move one of the window "rails" in order to get access to the bolt that holds the handle. I did a video of the process and fix that i did here kzbin.info/www/bejne/fZDEoqKhpKp7kKs

Shitty product engineering. Totally predictable reliability problem. This temporary fix will work for a while until the STEEL hinge pins rusts again.
