Just about to tackle this job myself and this video is exactly what I needed to see. Wonderfully explained and in my own accent too! Thanks for taking the time to do this Dave. Top man!

Massive thanks for this video. I have an XF 2016 2.0D auto. I get a Castrol affiliate garage to do my service. Price and quality is spot on. They offered to do the fuel filter last service but said "it's an expensive part only from JLR". It seems these are now appearing through online retailer for a more modest £40-50. Given the XF and XE filters are in the exact same spot, I dare say we have a little more room on the XF, I'll be following this video and changing mine. Thanks again.

You're welcome, I've seen them for £36. All are JLR as aftermarket don't seem to do the filters

Great vid, you are correct there are not many vids on this procedure. I have a 17 Jag with the 2.0 diesel, it only has about 27K miles but I am always afraid of fuel contamination, so I am getting ready to change the filter at 30K. I had a Jetta TDI that I ran out of life, love the European diesels, I am getting 45 MPG in this Xe.

Great video again Dave, you a extremely skilled in diagnosing whilst making it understandable. I think what would help new viewers, is if you out your video into playlists, Vauxhall Corsa , VW Audi etc. It may help with your older videos get more passive views from the auto play function or if someone is scrolling your channel 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Enjoyed that I am getting close to having to change mine only question I have is when purging i assume you hit the start button but don't actually start it do you do this a few times until the gurgling stops and then actually start it? Coming from N Ireland I actually enjoyed the commentary. emigrated to Canada in 1970. Served may apprenticeship in Mackies. Cheers and Thanks

Awesome video!!!! I have a 2018 XE 20D AWD. So far I’ve done an oil and filter change myself, cabin filter, and in the next few days the engine air filter. The diesel filter was just replaced at the dealer at the included EliteCare 2 service... but I surely intend to replace the diesel filter myself in the future. One of the concerns I have is the DEF FLUID, since I live in an extreme heat climate, like six months of the year over 100 degrees with peaks to 130+! I believe the *DRAIN* is behind the liner of the left rear wheel? If you ever do a drain, could you make another video of that :o) My average actual MPG’s (USA MPG’s) = about 45 average city highway combined without the use of stop start. The stop start finally got fixed when the dealer just installed a new main battery. Anyway love the car, and definitely loved your video!!!
@King_Harrold3 жыл бұрын
There's one already on KZbin. kzbin.info/www/bejne/q6jIg3V5hbR8bNk I recommend - not overfilling the DEF, - ensure car isn't sat stationary for too long (weeks) in heat, - use quality DEF that's hasn't been sat on a shelf (here in the UK we have some fuel stations with DEF on pump) - top up frequently to stop older DEF crystallising. Hope this helps. DEF is just more complexity.

There’s a lot of wee stuff involved in changing the fuel filter. Haha! That was when I first started listening then later I started to understand what you were saying. Damn good video btw. Not many people take the time to go through and explain all the details like you did. I actually just went out and changed my fuel and oil filter after watching. Do you recommend priming the fuel filter? It took 3 tries before my car would start.
