Great video bro! Put me in to perspective what I’d be dealing with & I already know what I’ll replace my water pump & supercharger pulley if it goes bad now ‼️ I don’t want the latest car, but this seems pretty reliable as long as you stay on top of the oil changes like any other car! My pops drives both a V8 truck & sedan! It’s my time to have my own at 26! Been finding them less than 15k from 84k-98k which isn’t bad to me.. I know what to replace or look into at that mileage as well!

I also have this model (factory custom ordered) from 2012 as the original owner for the last 11 years. It's been super reliable with timeless style, opulent interior, and incredible NA engine. I cannot believe how Jaguar screwed up the second gen XF with no V8 options, considering how great this car was. The interior quality of this model vs the second gen (pre-facelift) XF is stark. Still not sure what will replace my 2012 5.0 NA XF eventually.

Congrats, that's impressive to be an original owner. They did a great job on this car. The v8 disappeared I believe due to emissions you need so many lower emission cars to build sports cars these days. Hope you enjoyed the video.

I've had an XK (5.0) for the past several years as my daily, but as my girls are growing, have sadly had to look for a replacement. And this is the only choice, same car on a saloon body. Great video answered all my Qs. Thank you Sir!

We have the same year, the same purchase with milage and the only difference is mine is not the portfolio edition. But, I cannot defend this vehicle .... it has had so many many many issues, at over 70k miles, I have replaced the cooling lines, the AC unit, the altinator, the coolant resivor, ALL the shock AND suspension, that includes upper control arms, lower control arms, rear upper and lower, rear wheel bearing and the engine mount. The fuel pump(s) primary and secondary and in just the time I have owned this vehicle I spent over $12,000 in parts and labor. The only saving grace is I had a third party warranty that kicked in after I spent $6000 the first time. I won't disagree that this is a fun car with the right amount of power to pass and it sounds great with aftermarket muffler, not supper lout, but with more V8 growl which says I'm not a V6. The car handles well, but it's just not built well enough to keep it as a daily driver, more like a pet you take on a walk on the weekends. And because the cars brakes have so much grip, all that 4,200 pound plays havoc with the front suspension which will eventually lead to failure and strain on the bushings. Good luck, and hope you don't have the same experience I've had, the car is not driven like a bat out of hell btw, but how does Jaguar build a car the is engineered so badly that the fuel pump fails! This car is paid for, but I would never ever buy another one.

I think much of your ownership experience depended on the previous owner's (lack of) maintenance or abusive driving habits. I had mine (2012 XF 5.0 Naturally Aspirated) built to order, and as the original owner with 65000 miles on it, I am still on the original brake pads and rotors, with another 35 percent of pad life left. The suspension, bushings, and shocks are still all original. There were some wear and tear items, such as plastic coolant hoses, thermostat, and coolant pumps that were replaced by the nineth year of ownership, but the car is still rock solid, with no rattles, mechanical problems, or electrical gremlins. I liked this car so much to thr point that I bought a brand new F-Type P450, which was also built to order. In the last two years, the F-Type had no troubles either. The key for me was being the original (first) owner and avoiding previous owner's neglect or abuse, which aren't always evident in previous owner's service paperwork.

I absolutely hate these new little engines. V8 for me forever. The little engines can be tuned to go fast but they don’t hold up. Gov sucks.

Hey sir. Are you available for a chat on this car. I think I’m about to buy one but I’m reading horrible stories about the electrical. Thanks

Sorry it is a very busy time right now. My understanding is the quality is better from 2010 Jaguars onward. Prior model years of various Jags did have some electrical issues.

I had a 2011 with the same engine and can say it would be cheaper to just trade it in for a supercharged model. I had the same idea as you but you’d have to completely remap the engine.

Question from a fellow Canadian: did the V8 XF come with AWD in Canada? There seems to be conflicting information on the webs about the availability of AWD on the XF.
@BrunoTombari

The V8's which were from 2009-2012 were rear wheel drive, the XFR were also rear wheel drive. 2013 on were not available with V8, they were V6 supercharged and they were AWD. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and please share the video.

The reference is about the XF models, not any other models of Jaguar. After 2012 there are no XF's with a naturally aspirated engines. Hope this clarifies.
