I had (still have) an early generation XF 3.0ltr petrol V6 premium luxury, which I've loved to death, it developed a gearbox issue and after a £5,000 rebuild still had an issue. To cut a long story short I had to abandon the car. When I got back home I was so pissed I immediately went on auto trader to look at buying a new car and I inevitably found myself looking at the XJ. I found a late 2012 3.0ltr supercharged XJ portfolio with only 16,000 miles on it (2013 model) it has the 8 speed box, uprated suspension and infotainment, it was the major face-lift year for the XJ. I paid under £19,000 for what is essentially a brand new one owner garaged all it's life car. Compared to the XF, which I loved, it's next level. It's £74,000 of car and feels every penny. The experience it gives, the ride, the power (340 bhp and around 360ftlb torque) the smell of the leather, the superb handling is second to none. It looks stunning with the cream two tone interior and when you drive it, you just feel special. It wraps around you like a Jag should, if I had one little niggle it would be that the engine noise is a little over silenced, I love the racy sound of a V6 and being supercharged as well, I mean the noise is there could just be a little more pronounced for my taste. So I rage bought this car and it was the best car buying decision I've ever made.

Yep - I have the same - called Lunar Grey - my range is between 1300 to 1400 kms per tank - evs cannot compete - just the best of the 5 jags that I have owned

Is it only me but the steering wheel centre boss is horrendous not in keeping with the elegance of the rest of the car,if it was more like the one in my XF I wouldconcider one pity!

I have had an xf 3.0d and now xj 3.0 xj is like a million times better car, faster more refined and loads more extras. Nothing to compare these two cars apart from the badge, would never go back to xf after this

Hey Keith, I still have my Arnage. I succumb to the temptation of ditching my perfect CLS400 with 59k miles for a near flawless Frost Blue XJL PORTFOLIO with picnic tables like in the Arnage. I’ve done over 1200 Highway miles in one month and WOW! What a vehicle.
