★ジャガー XJ6 4.0 バンデンプラ(XJ40)に関して
ジャガーXJシリーズにおいて、XJ40系は1986年に登場、1990年モデルより大幅なマイナーチェンジが行われた。
ボディデザインは空気抵抗が大幅に改良され、XJシリーズとしては初の角形ハロゲンヘッドライトが採用された。
またボディパーツ数が25%も減らされることで、工作精度の向上やかねてから問題視されていた錆の低減、そして軽量化を実現した。
なおアメリカ市場向けのモデルは、全グレードが角形ヘッドランプのみとされ、更に商標登録上の問題により「デイムラー」のブランドが使用できないため、「バンデン・プラ」ブランドで販売された。
搭載される水冷直列6気筒DOHCエンジンは3980ccの排気量から、最高出力225ps(165kW)/4750rpm、最大トルク38.4kg・m(376.6N・m)/3650rpmを発揮した。

In the Jaguar XJ series, the XJ40 series was introduced in 1986 and underwent major minor changes compared to the 1990 model.
The body design has significantly improved air resistance, and is the first XJ series to use square halogen headlights.
Additionally, by reducing the number of body parts by 25%, we were able to improve machining accuracy, reduce rust, which had long been considered an issue, and reduce weight.
All models for the American market were only available with rectangular headlamps, and because the Daimler brand could not be used due to trademark registration issues, they were sold under the Vanden Plas brand.
The water-cooled in-line 6-cylinder DOHC engine installed has a displacement of 3980cc and produces a maximum output of 225ps (165kW) at 4750rpm and a maximum torque of 38.4kg・m (376.6N・m) at 3650rpm.
