As usual, great video. I did this and made a video last year and put it on my channel. Come to find out, I think there are only 2 vids showing this process on an XjR, yours and mine. Great job. I am having a marathon today on your vids..

Does X350 XJR mine supercharger has this access for oil change needed? Thx

@@normansung9795 hey stranger, yes, you have a similar setup but not sure where it is..

Your oil level is indeed low. I did my 03 SV8 S.C. while on the car and used nearly both bottles of the Delco oil. I'm looking forward to your other videos. You provide a good amount of detail. Thanks for that.

How much oil did you get out of yours?

@ Josh At last I finally have my big Black Lena back! 1998 Jaguar XJR extra fully loaded I’m watching this video to see how I can change my oil on the Eaton M112 supercharger myself. I’d like to do mine without removing it and I’ll follow this video in detail for exactly how you do yours. From Greg Alberta, Canada Way way up North

Congratulations on getting your car back! You may be able to suck most the gear oil out with a syringe. Good luck!

Hi! How much oil you ended up using when filling in? The other video recommends putting back what you extracted but if i understood correctly here, you are saying fill until top of drain plug (i.e. when it starts to come out?) Thanks for video
@LowTechGarage Жыл бұрын
It takes the whole bottle. I hope that helps.

Great video, thanks. Could you please post a link to the oil kit that you used? Thanks :)

I added a link to the oil in the description.

Where did you get all those hoses? Was it a kit?

Hi, could it be that the veins are somehow in a way of where i need to put the drain to get the oil out? I am doing it on the car, not removed unlike you, its badly accessible. I removed the drain plug but been playing with syringe for half hour and havent been able to put it there to drain it out.

Hi There, I had to wiggle the tube around to get it to seat at the bottom of the supercharger. If you look at our video on removing the snout, you will be able to see what's inside there where you are trying to put the tube. I think this might help you get an idea of how to seat the tube. I hope this is helpful, let us know how it goes!
@jl60523 жыл бұрын
@@LowTechGarage thank you, i was already able to do it in the meantime. I used pliers and it helped me to get the tube in. Your video anyway explains why sometimes I was not draining anything even when I knew I still dont have all the 230ml out. The tube needs to go in the middle and bit over the small bump.

Does this process still apply when working on an XJ L? It's a 3.0L V6
@LowTechGarage5 ай бұрын
You still need to change the oil, but the process will be slightly different as it’s a newer platform.

Can't you just dump oil in the top that you got the cover off of instead of pushing that syringe back in there?
@LowTechGarage Жыл бұрын
I guess it’s personal preference. I try my best to be precise and clean.

The smell is bad for sure. It's definitely the worst smelling fluid on any vehicle I've worked on.
