Thanks John, I have a 2004 XK8 and although I had the brake fluid changed not long ago I always wondered how one knew when it needed changing. Now I know and I have just ordered the tester. Happy New Year and many thanks for a great service.

Just a word of warning, please. It took me a long time to realise what gave me an occasional very painful swelling of all my knuckle joints that last for a week or more. I am badly allergic to brake fluid. Many people are I believe, but most not as badly as me, fortunately for them. So I would say ALWAYS wear nitrile gloves when handling brake fluid, and wash off instantly any drop that lands on bare skin. You do not want to find out if you are allergic; believe me.

Your XK8 looks green on my laptop, but I believe it is listed as blue?

🤣both correct Brian The colour is called Aquamarine mica Blue It was only offered for 18months at premium over metallic and was not common as A) expensive paint B) most jag buyers have conservative tastes C) colour chip in catalogue looks nothing like it! It is a blue with a green pearl and looks different colours dependent on the weather. Thanks for watching Brian

Is DOT 5 an option ? It is not hygroscopic and the racers like it.

Hi James👍 Dot 5 won't. absorb. water and. won't eat paint but it is silicone based and so will destroy the rubber seals in your standard brake system. You can buy new seals that will cope with it though. I believe dot 5.1. is an option with standard seals. but you are back to it eating paint.

Hope not Andy as they are a pet hate of mine. Completely unintentional I assure you. I have changed it to a slightly more grammatically correct version, immediately off the back of your comment Andy. I only have one title that I retrospectively consider to be clickbate and that one is connected with the Navara.
