Jaguar XKR-S vs Jaguar XKR-S GT Exhaust... Which Sounds Better?

So... what is the difference between the very limited Jaguar XKR-S and the super rare
XKR-S GT? Although the look similar and they have the same powertrain and horsepower, there a multitude of performance, dynamic and cosmetic differences. One that you notice immediately however..... the exhaust.
I have grabbed some clips from the past year and put together a comparison for you of the sound of these 2 supercharged cats!

Had some comments in the FB groups that the exhausts are the same. According to David Moore, the Chief Project Manager for the GT project, the internals of the exhaust and the tune are actually quite different. If you are interested in learning more about the GT, I recommend you check out his biographical book on his many years at Jaguar called “One Moore for the Road”. There is an entire chapter dedicated to the XKR-S GT.

Both sound absolutely awesome & I’m lucky enough to own a XKRS but unfortunately just not that lucky to own the XKRS GT! -I’ve owned it for 3 years now & can’t recommend the XKRS highly enough as a very affordable to run, gentleman’s luxury uk muscle car with near super car performance & a relative rarity value.

The RS GT seemed ridiculous to me at first... a big boulevard cruiser lightened and juiced up for the track... However the more I think about it the more it actually MAKES SENSE. Esp for the gentleman racer. Fits the perfect niche to go racing on the weekend in peace and comfort while still putting down a blistering lap time, then cruising home in peace and comfort (and style) as if nothing happened! This means one doesn’t have to break their back in a silly Caterham or listen to a buzzy 458 until their ears bleed. Only the grand touring enthusiasts understand this one and I refuse to have anything but a GT segment car , good vid thanks !

thanks for the comment! I sold the RS but I still have the GT... I feel like I will probably buy another RS tho... I miss it a bunch. The GT, as cool as it is ... its way too collectible and rare to hammer around in too much and the front splitter is sooo low that it stresses me out. The RS is more of a No Shits Given driving experience!

Hey man, I have played around with our XKR-S a lot, if you put it in dynamic mode and ease on the gas in first gear as soon as you hit 2,700 take your foot off the gas and upshift into second you get AWESOME pops and bangs from the exhaust

It was difficult to tell how different they actually are because they weren't driven the same way. It would be nice to see the same camera angles, especially since the GT didn't have a flyby shot. I have an XKR-S and a GoPro, so I would be willing to provide whatever shots you need to make a good comparison video.
