As others have mentioned below, here’s the full story: I saw the original stream on twitch briefly, but I wasn’t able to see the rest of it and so this information is entirely from multiple sources and not fully unbiased: *SPOILER ALERT FOR ANYONE WHO CAN’T HANDLE, OR DON’T WANT TO SEE SPOILERS FROM THIS POINT ONWARD!!!:* 1. In her first attempt of the game, she beat her rival both times but when facing off against Aaron’s bug pokemon, her togekiss lost to his heracross by Stone Edge Crit. 2. When facing against Bertha, she beat most of her Pokémon but when Rhyperior showed up, her quagsire died to it by earthquake crit, and her garchomp lost due to Avalanche Crit. 3. Realizing the inevitable, she asked the entire chat, whether to repeat the elite four from her previous save file, or to restart the entire Nuzlocke and end the video. Some people have claimed that she also asked this because it was her birthday, while others said they voted for the previous save file because it was her birthday at the time (mutually exclusive) 4. After seeing that 70% said previous save file, and 30% said “FOLLOW THE RULES AND ADMIT YOU LOST!!!” She compromised saying that she would attempt to beat the elite four a second time, the video/playthrough would no longer be a nuzlocke, and that she wouldn’t disregard the loss, despite being salty that she lost each time due to crits. 5. To dramatize this, giratina being the ruler of an alternate world, showed the second attempt Jaiden the vision of “what’s to come.” Which is why each time you saw a glitch and cursed image, giratina’s face briefly appeared, cuz she’s slowly feeling guilty and horrified. It’s like jaiden claiming she won the first playthrough while using the second recording as the main video, which is why she guilty to the point of possibly never doing nuzlockes again.

For those who didn't watch the stream, jaiden actually lost her first attempt at elite four. Her Togekiss died to a crit stone edge against aaron's Heracross. and her Quagsire and Qarchomp got really unlucky against bertha's Rhyperior. Since the rest of her team was weak against flint's team, she gave up. However, since the reason for her losing was extremely unlucky and not mistakes on her part, she did a poll asking if she could retry elite four. 70% said yes, so she did it again. She won, but it was hollow. "Alternative timeline jaiden" was her, when she lost on the first attempt

Correct. She lost Togekiss against Aaron because of a Stone Edge Crit. And while she handled most of Bertha's team with minimal difficulty, once Bertha's Rhyperior came out, it took out Jaiden's Quagsire with an Earthquake Crit and her Garchomp with an Avalanche Crit. At that point all she had left was her Torterra, Scizor, & Magnezone, all 3 of which were weak against Fire, and the next Elite Four member, Flint, had a team that consisted entirely of Fire types, meaning that she had practically no hope of even getting past Flint by that point, let alone actually reaching Cynthia herself. Those 3 crits effectively destroyed Jaiden's entire Nuzlocke run right at the finale.

Jaiden had actually lost to bertha in the elite four. Bertha’s Rhyperior wiped her team. She asked her chat if she should try again and they said yes. That is why she was glitching at the end and also the reason why there was some sort of alternate her.

To explain on the "Two Jaiden" thing and the glitches of vision of her team losing She lost at her first attempt at the Elite 4, Colgate (Togekiss) got crit Stone edhe by Hericross by Aaron, Oops (Quaksire) got Crit by Rhyperior's Earthquake and Flakes (Garchomp) got KO'd by Avalanced by Bertha, so which leaves her final 3 teams extremely at a disatvantage against Flint with his fire type. She made a poll with chat if she can restart at the Elite 4 and they voted yes because it is near her birthday, so the "alternative timelime" is Jaiden's first attempt which she failed and when she said "I don't deserve this" it's her feeling guilty she lost the challenge

Haven't seen this video yet but I think based on their reaction to the Ruby Nuzlocke, I think they may not be that familiar with Pokemon games so doing a Nuzlocke blind could be extra challenging Edit: emphasis on "I think" because it's been a while since I watched their reaction to Ruby so I could be mistaking them for someone else

since jaden originally lost the elite 4 she asked chat if she could retry it and she won. so technically she did lose the nuzlocke but implemented it into the animation so well with the alternate timeline thing 😭

Yeah she originally lost in the first run. She got hit by a bunch of crits and was wiped out to the point that she gave up before Flint’s battle. The guy is fire and her only remaining pokemon are weak to fire.

If only! Shellos & Gastrodon have two different forms depending on where it's caught. If it's caught on the east side of Mt. Coronet (where Jaiden caught hers), it will be East Sea form, whereas if it is caught on the West side, it will be West Sea. :)

So you guys like the ending song! Let me tell you about it! It’s from a Pokémon spinoff game called Pokémon mystery dungeon explorers of sky. It is, I believe, a piano cover of “in the hands of fate.” And it has a leitmotif (musical theme) that is in most of the main story related songs. The mystery dungeon series is amazing, and explorers of sky is the best when it comes to pure story. Including post credits (aka the half way point) it’s about 24 hours worth of story, and it is legitimately, to someone like me who likes story based games over anything else, the best video game that I know of. There’s a plot twist about halfway to two thirds of the way through the pre-credits story, and most of the characters have depth to them, and in sky (which is an improved version of darkness and time), a lot of the side characters have stories of their own where you can play as them. The story was the first game to make me cry, and I went in knowing the full story and what would happen. If you guys would want to, there is a cutscene movie of the story, that basically cuts all the fighting other than boss fights out and just shows character interactions and story. If you would want to react to it it would have to be multiple parts, because even with gameplay removed it’s about 7 hours altogether, though it’s split into “chapters” for the main story pre credits, and the special episodes are their own videos. (Special episode 5 is almost an hour so you might want to split it up). This is a request but don’t feel, like, pressured to react or anything lol. I’d definitely recommend you to actually play the game, but it’s so adored that it sells for... I think the cheapest I’ve seen was 60 dollars? So it’s hard to get. The cutscene movie is free. I just thought you might be interested, because you liked the song. Honestly that melody is an instant tear jerker due to reasons. As a massive music person- the soundtrack to mystery dungeon is legitimately like... the best video game soundtrack? I mean undertale is good too, soundtrack and story wise, but all of the mystery dungeon games, especially explorers, go above and beyond, and I’ve never seen anything like them. I’m sure there’s some out there, but I haven’t seen it. Wow this was a long rambley way to suggest reacting to my absolute favorite game, wasn’t it? The cutscene movie is by you tuber Theaggyyu and you can find the playlist on that person’s channel.
