yup, from personal experience the worst offenders are either gen 5 part 1 or the Jhoto remakes. Gen 5 is sorta debatable due to how experience is handled in that game. with lower level Pokémon getting bonus exp for being under leveled and the reverse happening for over leveled Pokémon. The Jhoto remakes however are more difficult to defend as it felt like everything in the wild past a certain point was way to weak for substantial gain (or training in certain cases). Which is funny because these are also some of my most fond memories figuring out new strategies and optimizing my run.

One thing you might consider looking into is a Soul Link. It's like a nuzlocke you play together with opposite versions of the same generation (like Ruby/Sapphire or X/Y), but with a few added rules for your team: Every pokemon you get or catch is linked to the pokemon your parter got at the same place. If your starter is Mudkip and hers is Torchic, those two are linked. Whatever happens to one of the linked pokemon happens to the other. If Torchic dies, Mudkip also dies and cannot be used. If you're using Mudkip in combat, you must switch out. If Mudkip is put in the box, so is Torchic, etc. Major events (gym battles, team leaders, rival battles, Elite Four) must be done at the same time in both games. The rest of these are rules for added challenge: Pokemon caught in the wild must be of opposing gender (or nongendered) and cannot be of the same primary type. Between both teams of six, all pokemon must have unique primary types. For example, you cannot both have a psychic type at the same time.

The thing is, the kids that first started playing video games are all grownups now, but in most cases, their passion for gaming remained. But still, there are a lot who think that games like Mario, Kirby and Pokemon are for a younger audience, instead of more 'mature' games such as Call for Duty, Grand Theft Auto, God of War and Halo.

your "pikachu" game brought up traumatizing memories because i know EXACTLY where you got it from. The reason Zipzapzop survived is cause of the 80 Marils jaden had defeated and with each one she defeated, it gave Zipzapzop HP EV stats with each level up and then zipzapzop became bulky as hell. With each pokemon you defeat you get those evs depending on the pokemon you battle. For example if you defeat 100 Ponyta, thos ponyta will most likely give you speed ev stat boosts making your pokemon fast as can be

The reason Zip Zap Zop survived is because marril gives 2 HP IV’S and so by taking out 80 marril Zip Zap Zop gained 160 HP IV’S which really beefed it up and allowed it to survive. It jaden had not fought the marrils Zip Zap Zop would have died

Just don't start with Sword and Shield, those are the first actually bad pokemon games. It actually made a lot of people think that all pokemon games were that bad, but they aren't. Talk about a terrible start for Pokemon being on a Home console for the first time... Sun and Moon, despite the many cutscenes, are my favorite pokemon games. The story is great, the characters are great, and the post-game Looker event is amazing and rather dark and sad like X and Y's.
