I haven't finished watching your video yet, but you know, it's never dawned on me that I might be able to root my TV. The issue I have with LG - and I love the actual hardware, is the ads. The thing that seriously irritates me is if you enable online services, you get ads. If you don't agree to their online services terms and conditions, you can't use streaming apps. It's total bs. I might look into what else can be done whilst the TV is rooted. Thanks! Edit: The funniest phrase I've heard today is 'You need to get the IP address of your television'. It just sounds so wrong and weird.

I don't have a LG TV so not sure how well these will work for you. You will need to either root the TV and locate the options to disable the ads; or setup Pihole or AdGuard on a Raspberry Pi to act as a DNS sink. It won't block ads on KZbin if the ads are being served from the same website (KZbin in this case). To block KZbin ads, use a different approach.

Hi Michael, good tutorial, mine TV OLED have 03.40.87 firmware ,I never had "dejavuln-autoroot Installing..." notification, only "This file cannot be recognized. Playing the next file" notification. Any suggestion or definetly patched ? Finally I managed to root my TV by following the Readme on the dejavuln-autoroot Github, by putting the files at the root of the USB stick and by creating highotoot.debug and motorot.telnet also at the root of the USB stick. Of course! What you gain with jailbreaking is the ability to sideload apps that are not in the lg content store. Otherwise it will be the same tv as before. You do not lose anything when jailbreaking.

besides free games and unlocked fps is there an actual point to jailbreak a ps4/ps5? since you cant use them online without getting console banned i never understood the point of doing so with last/current gen, it makes sense for 7th gen since they where very easy and sony rarely banned people running cfw's, the question im trying to ask is this the same reason to jailbreak a ps3 just to make the system be faster and to ftp gamefiles to the system without buying them? other then those purpose i dont see much of a reason to mod a modern console.

i put the kodi on there. one of the few apps that didn't need the root. with the app i found with the PC. Hey another method. ok. It's kinda weird. Why is there even a need for the root? The apps are kinda meh. We got the c1. the TV is 2 grand. only got it because of the extra work of the pidemic thing. after all that. it's hard to do anything dumb. one post said they turned off the smart feature and got a steaming box. like a fire stick or NVIDIA shield.
