Oh these shows make me so so grateful I put the plug in the jug years ago.. Staying sober at first was hard, like drugs, alcohol will also tell you that you are FINE when you are clearly not ok.. Every one has a different bottom they eventually hit if they are lucky -some live thru it & clean up & sober up , sadly some never do.

You're right. How many vids do we see of drunks at airports. Whoever thought it was a good idea to sell unlimited booze at an airport must be the same person that thought filling dirigibles with explosive gas was a good idea. When I was in the military I was on a very secluded posting when I was 22. Nothing much to do but drink and sleep when not working. After 8 months of this, I realized that I was an inch away from being an alcoholic (I was consuming close to a case of Heineken a night). My performance was abysmal, my personal relationships suffered, my health was deteriorating, however, I was convinced that I was on top of my game, best ever. In that period of time, there wasn't much concern in the military about drinking, as long as you didn't do it on duty or come to work drunk. I was lucky to realize what I was doing to myself (believe me, very rare for this 22 year old dunce) and had enough willpower to take corrective action. I'm 70 now, and haven't had a drink since I was 23. Also quit smoking at 40. These legal addictions are pure evil.

I work in customer service in an area with a large Hispanic population. Many of my customers are not fully fluent in English, so I picked up Spanish over the years to make things a little bit easier. I am not fully fluent, but I read and understand Spanish fairly well. I usually only tell someone I speak Spanish when there is a need, so many people assume that I don't. I regularly have people say disrespectful things to me in Spanish because they assume that I don't understand what they are saying. I have to admit that enjoy seeing the look on their faces when I respond in Spanish.

So, about the couple that wanted to get married and rehab together... I'm an alcoholic in recovery. I rehabbed with people that were on all kinds of stuff, from heroin down to pot, and if there's one thing I learned it's that no junkie [self included] can be the crutch for another junkie. We all went wrong for different reasons and you can't adopt somebody else's reasons and get right yourself. And while I don't condone or support these two doing drugs any more than I support or condone myself having another drink, I do respect the dude taking the weight so his girl can get to rehab. That was, well, manly behavior and it should be congratulated. I hope these two ended up getting clean.

But the crazy drunks are fun to watch, right ? 😂
@Texaslife98 Жыл бұрын
This is such a naive thing to say in that its “you just need to handle your alcohol” when really we as humans HAVE NO control over how we react to alcohol. We’ve normalized alcohol so much to the point that people forget that alcohol is actually a toxin; people just ingested it in order to feel good. Our bodies are not meant to ingest or metabolize alcohol. You guys are definitely lucky, but I can certainly say that if you guys keep up this habit it will bite y’all in the ass sometime down the road. When you are younger your body can handle alcohol with minimal damage, but as you get older you’ll begin to notice that you react much more strongly to the same amount that you had before with no problem.
@Texaslife98 Жыл бұрын
@@jasonwilson8877You can’t “handle alcohol”.. this is such a stupid saying. It’s not something you can control - it’s just your bodies reaction to alcohol. It’s not some special thing that you can control or change, or else I’m sure no one would choose to act so stupid when drunk. Alcohol is a toxin that people have gotten used to using on a regular basis since it makes them feel good temporarily, but with most our bodies won’t respond well to it because it was never meant for us to consume.
