While speaking at the Kautilya Economic Conclave -2023, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on October 22 laid out the conditions required on which India may start issuing visas again to Canadians. Recently, Canada recalled 41 of its diplomats from India after the Indian government said it would revoke their diplomatic immunity, escalating a spat over the slaying of a Khalistani separatist in Canada.

We had heard frequently of Western "hypocrisy" in respect of freedoms and himan rights being highlighted by pointing out the too numerous cosy relationships the West has had with the wordt of dictators and autocrats. Captured in the phrase, " he may be a SOB, but he is our SOB. The current spat with India is indicative of Western hypocrisy from the other end of the spectrum on things like democracy, human rights, freedoms - the one place in the world which actually allows freedoms, religious rights, etc. is India. But the West has been cultivating rogues and rogue organizations to make trouble for India as a kind of leverage for the West against India. Shows just how serious they are about things like democracy, guman rights, freedoms etc. Selfish interests trumps shared values each time every time. Nijjar and Khalistan are Western intelligence assets, which is why this issue is dragging on.

There is no need for many Indian students study abroad. Now, I believe there are better universities and colleges. If parents donate the same money to Indian institutions, which in turn can upgrade their curriculums and provide quality education suitable to India’s needs and way of life. My best regards to Mr, Jaishankar, he says things as is, no sugar coating, which was happening before he became the Foreign Minister(this is my opinion and observation). Indian Diplomats and other officials in Mr. Modi Ji’s government are well informed(most of them, I think) and bold to speak out and stand for justice. Let it go days are gone. This is NEW BHARAT, bold, strong, inclusive, sympathetic and peace loving people. It takes two hands to clap. Every country has its right to protect its people regardless of any kind of rules and regulations, when those rules are broken by Diplomats, who take advantage of the immunity they are given. I feel sorry CANADA, it is not seeing things in a right way. It is a beautiful country and most of the people. Hope it regains its reputation as a SAFE COUNTRY it was once!. All the best!

Trudeau is once again misconstruing the facts. India was well within the Vienna convention rules to request parity in diplomatic staff after Canadian dipolmats were continuing to interfere in India's internal affairs. India asked them to leave by a certian date, which Canada resisted, hoping for a "private dialogue" to allow them to stay, which went nowhere. Only after it seemed the Canadian dipolmats were planning to ignore the directive did India inform them that if they overstayed, after that date they would no longer enjoy diplomatic immunity. The question is, why were they worried if they were not guilty of illegal activity?

Diplomatic parity is the principle where countries maintain an equal number of diplomats in each other's capitals. There have been instances in history when countries reduced the number of diplomats in response to specific actions or disagreements. Here are some notable examples: * US-Russia: In 2017, Russia ordered the US to cut its embassy and consulate staff in Russia by 755 people, following US sanctions against Russia for its alleged interference in the 2016 US presidential elections. The US responded in kind by ordering the closure of the Russian consulate in San Francisco and diplomatic annexes in New York and Washington. * UK-Russia: After the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal in the UK in 2018, which the British government attributed to Russia, the UK expelled 23 Russian diplomats. Russia responded by expelling 23 British diplomats. * Canada-Russia: In 2014, after the annexation of Crimea by Russia, Canada expelled nine Russian military personnel. Russia responded by expelling a similar number of Canadian diplomats. * US-Cuba: After the Cuban Revolution in 1959, diplomatic ties between the two countries were strained, leading to the reduction and eventual cessation of diplomatic representation. Although relations thawed somewhat in the 2010s, they've fluctuated over the years, with the number of diplomats being adjusted accordingly. * India-Pakistan: Due to longstanding tensions, the two neighbors have, at times, reduced the number of diplomats in each other's countries. For instance, in 2018, both countries mutually agreed to reduce the strength of their diplomatic missions by half. * NATO-Russia: In 2018, several NATO member countries expelled Russian diplomats in response to the Skripal poisoning incident. Russia responded by expelling Western diplomats. These are just a few instances. Diplomatic expulsions and reductions have been used by countries as a non-violent means to express discontent or retaliate against perceived provocations. They usually serve as symbolic gestures, indicating the severity of disagreements or diplomatic tensions. India did not violate international law by reducing the number of Canadian diplomats. Trudeau and Jolly should immediately resign before they further escalate diplomatic tensions between the two countries. They have created divisions between Hindus and Sikhs in Canada.

My problem is that if Dustbin Trudeau would not have made his idiotic allegations, MEA would have been sleeping over the disproportionate diplomatic presence of Canadians in India and tolerated their interference in internal matters ... ? So Trudeau's allegations were a wake up call for MEA .. I expect more initiative amd proactive action from MEA, they can do better than that
