In the final vlog of our Indonesia travel series, we had planned a lot of activities for our last few days in Jakarta. However, our plans were cut short when Mike was hurt and fell ill, leaving him bedridden for several days. To add to our troubles, our visas were due to expire soon. Despite this setback, we decided to make the most of our time in Jakarta and visited some of the city's famous landmarks. We first went to see The National Monument (Monas), followed by a tour of the beautiful Istiqlal Mosque and a quick visit to the Jakarta Cathedral. The heat got to us, so we decided to end the day early and spent some time reflecting on our two-month journey across Bali and Java. Despite an unexpected ending in Jakarta, our time in Indonesia has been life-changing, and we can't wait to return to see more of the country that filled our bellies and captured our hearts.

Bule comes from the word boulevard, which is the area where Europeans lived in Indonesia during the colonial era. So people during the colonial era called foreigners to make communication easier. _Bule (pronounced bu-lé) is a slang word generally used in Indonesians of native European descent. This term was also previously used to describe people with light skin color._ The word "Bule" is not at all rude to us Indonesians. We always consider foreigners who come to our country as "bule".

Great content as always guys. I really appreciate you covering all walks of life and religions in your vlogs. It really highlights the humanity in all of us. Mike, I did the same thing as you in Bali in 1999 walking back from a surf at Kuta beach. Fell chest deep into one of those drains, scraped leg and chest and about 2 foot of sewage at the bottom (surfboard ok). I couldn't hit the shower and antiseptic spray quick enough!! Daytime walks through Jakarta are always challenging, and it's even more so at night, even for us Jakarta natives. There's a saying that every Indonesian parent tells their child 'Use your eyes (to watch your surroundings)' perhaps to prevent situations like this. Hence, many young people nowadays walk with their gadgets all the time. For simple first aid, you can find it at a nearby minimart. Glad you're okay, Mike. Ashley seems to be a good doctor, I guess. I hope you guys find enough food since it seems hard to come by. What a challenging journey on your last day. Have a safe flight and stay healthy!

Just got back from Jakarta around a week ago from being there for a month, I’m missing it so much since I had a lot of family living there and stayed with my cousins and my grandma who had used to live with me. Jakarta is my favourite city because of how modern the city is and because of the people living there.

Its a pity you've got injured bro, Get well soon..i hope its ok. About monas, i've told you before that it had schedule if we want to go to up there 😁 maybe you forgot. The BULE its not a rude word. It just represent some foreigners. Long time ago the word BULE is used to call foreigners since most of the had a blonde hair. But now most of indonesian call every tourist nor foreigners (black, white etc) as BULE. The most romantic about Istiqlal mosque & the Catedral is : whenever the time pointing at 12.00 noon, the bell of the Catedral is doong doong doong, then followed with the Azan prayer from the Istiqlal Mosque.i think it represent the harmonic relations between Islam and Christian..for some people, it will make them have a goosebumps whenever they witness it. To bad you must end your travel in Indonesia. Theres a lot more hidden gems you havent visit yet 😁 Well the visa is about to expire and nothing you can do right..rule is a rule 😅 I hope you two could came back again soon, and i apologize if there anythings that doesnt feel right from us (citizen of indonesia) or if there is something that was bad.
