I'll tell you truly back in the day ( OK get all your negative stuff out there) a lot of trucks didn't have Jakes. I never had one and ran the west coast in the 70-80's. It was gear selection and speed. control. I'm not a diesel expert but i think all this torque is damaging the motors. Just my 2 cents, I don't know sh-t just experience and my thoughts.
