Can’t blame the guy for not re-signing in Pittsburgh. The team is headed for a rebuild and Jake is in the prime of his career. Why would he want to waste the rest of his career not being able to win?

Hate to see him go, and the trade was terrible, but at this point Jake would have wasted seasons resigning with the Pens.

Is it really horrible? I love Jake as much as any Burgher out there, but keep in mind, Sid makes literally everyone that he plays with better. We got 3 prospects, an NHL ready forward, and a couple *conditional* draft picks for him, with the option to resign him in the summer, if we dump enough cap space. I personally felt like Jake was gonna be the next caprain of the franchise at some point.
